I'm looking for a hotel that is close to WDW that could accomodate a family of 12. We are willing to split into a couple of rooms obviously. In our group there is 1 couple with 3 kids, a couple with 1 child and two couples with no kids. Hopefully something not too expensive. Breakfast included would be a bonus ;)

Thanks if you can suggest anything!

Staybridge Suites in LBV is less than a mile from WDW. They offer a hot breakfast that is very good, and they have 2 bedroom suites. Here's the website. www.staybridge.com

sometimes not all the time by any means on skyauction there are 3-bedroom condo.

these will generally take 12 people.

Now when I travel with family - we don't stay in the same resort (even when we can) - we get along better in separate resorts. :guilty:

www.skyauction.com

otherwise any of the timeshares in the area. they all have kitchens.

the problem would be getting them in the same resort. So expect to pay to have them in the same resort. Most of the discounts, websites, don't allow more than a couple of rooms.

you can try a home or villa rental

www.vrbo.com

here is a map to show you where the neighbors are located

these are hotels so no free breakfast - but they all have full kitchens.

forgot - the map just shows the Kissimmee area.

Lake Buena Vista is where Disney is located.

LBV and Kissimmee are next door to each other.

With that many people I"d rent a house, lots of space and you can make a quick breakfast or snack, or cook if you want.

And you get your own pool in most of the homes. It'll end up costing less that hotel rooms.

Well, will you have cars?? If you don't have cars, then I think I would stay on-site. If you have cars, then I would go with a house.

YOu don't say when you are going, so I don't know if it's a cheap season or not, but here is a house on villadirect.com..........It is in Windsor Palms, very nice developement. Do a search on this board and you will find lots of info on it. It goes for as low as $175 a night.

if you don't have a car or won't rent one.

then definitely stay on-site. I happen to like the value resorts.

remember if you stay on WDW property at a WDW resort then Disney will provide transportation to and from the airport.

You really don't need a car at WDW these days if you are staying on-site.

We stayed at the Cypress Pointe last March and had a great experience. We got a three bedroom unit that had three bathrooms. It also had two pull out couches. It was huge, close to 2000 sq feet and really clean. It was all around great and really affordable.

If you will have a car, I can suggest the Wyndham Palms Resort and Country Club. It was a very easy (less than five minutes) drive from WDW. We had a two bedroom two bath condo with a full kitchen, dining room, sofa bed, big screen tv, screened-in balcony, washer and dryer. The second bedroom had two double beds. The condo was 1500 square feet - quite large. I think you could easily accommodate 12 people in two of these.

I used hotelkingdom.com to make our reservation. We were going in the summer, so it was quite reasonable - something like $89 per night. We were there two years ago.

Hope this is helpful.

The two bedroom units only sleep 8. And with 4 couples, I'm guessing they would need at least 4 bedrooms. But they could "fit" in WP 3 bedroom according to the website.

Sorry if you misunderstood me. What I meant was two units. You can certainly put 12 people in two condos, since each unit sleeps 8.

Out of 4 couples, do you have anyone that works with a local, state, or fed. goverment agency? If you do you can rent 2 villas @ $264 ea. for a full week. The website is www.getravelop.com (government employees travel opportunities).
This is a great deal and you can get two that sleep 8 that will have 2 separated bedrooms and bathrooms and pull out sofas for the children.

I'll give another vote for renting a house if you have a car. The extra space and privacy you can have will make for a great vacation. A full kitchen will allow you to save money if you choose not to eat every meal in restaurants, one couple could watch the kids while the others go out occassionally and it also allows the adults to socialise in your own living room a little once the kids have gone to bed.
