Our trip for our family of three has turned into a trip for fourteen. 8 Adults one 16 year old and five under 10.... We are thinking of doing an offsite accomodation to save money. Using mousesavers I found some great deals on rental minivans...but I don't know what to do about accomodations. We are going for 10 nights the last week of April into the first of May. I have found some houses with 7 and 8 bedrooms but am not sure how we would all be after 14 people spending 10 nights together...Was thinking of getting two houses but is that possible to get them close together? Or perhaps divide all of the families into their own condo's in the same area. Any suggestions?? I could really use some advice/ideas...

I thought the same exact thing when my mom took us all to florida and we all stayed in the same house and there were 14 of us.

It ended up being the best vacation and since then we have been lucky to go very often to our home in florida with loads of family and friens.

I do not think it is for every one but for us it is the bomb!

Our family of 18 is going in July and we found a 6 bedroom 5.5 bathroom in Belivida. It has four master suites which was a must for us so we could spread out. The pictures look great and it is going to cost us about $2500.00 after taxes. We found it on VRBO.com and we rent houses every now again from listings on there. We would have loved staying on property but it just wasn't possible to pay that much. Plus, this one has it's own pool and resort amenities. I haven't stayed at Belivida before but it has gotten some good reviews. :)

How about going for a smaller resort where each family can book an individual unit yet be close by. It will just give everyone that little bit of space from each other - no matter how much you love your close family 10 days can somethimes work out to be a very long time when you are with them 24/7 :rotfl: We stay at Coral Cay Resort which is a new small resort with just townhouses which may be suitable.

We were down for Thanksgiving, part of a group of 15 (10 adults, 5 kids). We stayed at this house:

It really worked for us! There were four master suites, 3 with king beds, one with a queen. Two bedrooms had twin beds and an attached bath, one bedroom had bunkbeds and shared a bath with another twin bedroom. There was enough personal space that we never felt on top of one another. The kids really liked the pool and cinema rooms. There were several large tables outside that were great for meals, cards and conversation for the adults.

The house was well-laid out, had plenty of seating space and was in a good location. The neighborhood itself is gated, but it isn't manned. This didn't bother us. The only noise we really ever heard were happy noises, like kids swimming in a house across the street. It was a very peaceful place to come home to after the hubub of the parks

It took us 10-15 minutes to be in any parking lot in WDW, and we were there during a busy time. Traffic simply was never an issue. There were tons of eating options on 192, and a Publix was right down the road.

I would definately recommend this house to a large group and we would stay there again if we ever do go with so many again.

Hope this helps, if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Did you check with the owners to see if it was licensed for 18? They can get in trouble if more stay than the maximum number that's listed on their state license. Most 6 br are not licensed for that many. :)

We did, we have four children under 5 who will be sleeping with their parents.

***Note I just realized I had 18 and that was our original number but it should have been 15. Your right, I don't think you're supposed to have that many in a 6 bedroom!!!******

Hi
Hopefully you have 3 kids under 3, as a 6 bedroom home will be licensed for a maximum of 14 + infants under 3.
Even the 8 bedroom homes can only be licensed to a maximum of 16 guests over 3.

We do have three under three but maybe we should stay on topic since this really has been cleared up. Thanks!!

Boulevard House is in a great position on the lake in Formosa Gardens. This home is just around the corner from where we stay, so fully agree with you as to being peaceful.
