Wow, that is kind of twilight zonish!
I remember when a school of sea hares washed up after a hurricane, on a beach that I lived near awhile ago. They looked like purple, liver colored blobs, flopping around helplessly on the beach. We threw back as many as we could, only to have the tide wash them , back up on the beach again. (ugh)

Squid have pretty creepy eyes to look at.

The only other mammal that has the same Blastula Cell Divisions ard Partitions during embryonic developement as humans are squid, which makes the whole eye thing even creepier.

They were all over the beaches in SD a few days ago. Seems REALLY gross to me, but i did go to the beach with my friends to try and get some because they were gonna use them as bait when they fished the next day. Went to the wrong beach though, and there were no squid
