It is sufficient to say that yesterday was NOT my day. Last night was my step-daughter's birthday dinner. I didn't start things off right when we were getting ready to leave. I turned my ankle walking out the door (this is why I should not wear heels)... fell, bounced off DH's car and was there in the garage floor with him trying to help me up while having his own meltdown crisis that same day. I was too busy laughing at the absurdity of my situation and trying to downplay the amount of pain I was in. (no I hadn't even been drinking)
Anyway, she chose Olive Garden. Believe me, Olive Garden is at the bottom of my list of restaurants that I like. They came out and were asking about salad, and I made a comment about just keep those tomatoes away from me I am allergic to them, and the onions, I hate them. (meaning if I eat raw tomatoes they will break my mouth out in blisters, just like pineapple) We eventually ordered the entree. I tried to find the least offensive thing I could find..... pasta w/meat sauce
I got kind of an odd look.
Fast forward a little while later... the manager comes out with a plate, and said "I have the special allergy plate here"... then he was like, I want you to be aware there are tomatoes in the meat sauce. I had to explain to him, I was just saying that I cant eat raw tomatoes b/c they break my mouth out. Cooked, they are fine. WOW I felt SO embarrassed and like a Karen.
I made sure we tipped well
Moral of the story, don't be loud, and be careful what you say.
