Seems that Kilimanjaro Safari was closed yesterday afternoon (Sunday). There was a fire on one of the trucks which was quickly put out but one person was injured. They hurt their knee when they jumped from the truck!

Hope this wasn't near the lions-although they are always asleep on the same rock whenever we've been, our theory is they are not real, animatronics are so good these days!!

All of the animals in the Safari are real. The enclosures that they are in are basically hidden.

I have a friend who is a KSR Driver. He said that there are a lot of "safe areas" along the route, and the problem occurred in a safe area.

Disney is (was) investigating the cause of the fire, and if it was related to an equipment problem they will inspect the other safari vehicles to try to prevent it happening again.

Disney does not like to have Guest injuries; there is too much paperwork involved.
