Hi, Friday afternoon we couldn't stop for a yellow light and and slammed into a HUMMER:scared1: After basically in bed for a couple days, I headed to the walk in,just damage to my ribs do to seatbelt. But boy it hurts, I just learnt not to hide a yawn. Does anything help this type of pain??? Its a struggle to do anything, even to tie my shoes.

Holding a pillow against your body when you yawn, sneeze, cough helps. I had a full seat belt bruise one time. I swear it hurt for a few days & then was completly better. I switched back & forth between advil & tylenol.

Oh crap! :hug::hug:

It sure as heck doesn't SOUND like you're alright! There's lots of damage that can be done that a Dr in a walk in clinic isn't necessarily going to pickup; like nerve damage, muscle strain, etc. :eek::eek::eek:

My ATV hit a tree couple of years ago, and while I had no obvious trauma or broken bones, I had quite a bit of nerve damage that was PAINFUL! I went to a physiotherapist to find out exactly what was going on, and then therapy after that. Muscle or nerve damage won't just heal properly on it's own, you need specialized treatment. Please keep us posted on how you are doing!

Oh dear, did you have an xray? Sounds like a rib injury and they can be so painful. I tore the muscle from my rib in August helping move my DD into her NYC apt..it hurt for weeks I'm sorry to say. I would go to my Family Dr..just to be sure?

Feel better:flower3:

Sorry about your accident. I second the opinion of the other posters; make an appt w/ your family doc to be sure. Sounds like you're in an awful lot of pain.

I would also recommend that you get checked out by your family doc. You may have injured some muscles and tendons that the walk in clinic may have missed. I would also recommend that you have your back checked out, as you may have strained some muscles there as well, especially if you braced yourself just prior to the accident. Here's hoping that you have a swift recovery from your injuries.

Aleve has just come out on the market in Canada - it's an anti-inflammatory and is very good for pain! The only thing is that you must follow the instructions - very strong stuff!

But I think you should see your doc again if you are still uncomfortable - that sounds awful!!!:headache:

I would have it checked out. At least it can give you peace of mind knowing nothing more is going on. Plus you could have something for the pain.

Our walk in clinic in town is in a hospital, but I had the chance to see my Dr today. I need rest!! The extra blood work is not in, they say I also have an enlarged spleene(spelling). With my lungs right now, I am really a huge chance on catching something WE DON"T WANT.

The same thing happened to me. I did go to the dr. and she said it was just a bruse and would go away. It did go away. It really did hurt and I was black and blue. I hope it helps.
