Accessing Disney Springs with Disabilities and Scooter

I'd like some input from anyone who has a disability which requires disability parking as well as a scooter regarding going to and enjoying Disney Springs. Unfortunately, when we were there last time, the parking was in a mess and traffic was horrible and we couldn't find out how to access the disability parking, etc. We would love to be able to go during our trip this Fall, as we really enjoy the shops and restaurants there; however, we need some advice from those having done this exactly how to do it. Please, if you have any info, I'd love to hear any and all your experience and suggestions.

if you are staying at a resort you could take the buss over I think this is so much easer

Yes, we are staying at a resort and we do know that we could take the Disney transportation to Disney Springs. The only problem with that is that you are at the mercy of the bus schedule. UPDATE: I did call the Disability Customer Service today and got some good information. The young lady did suggest the Disney transportation and said it wouldn't be any problem with the scooter; but she also said that things had gotten more organized since we were there last and there was ample disabled parking in the garage at the West end. Also, more importantly, she said that the new Lime garage was to open some time in the Fall and she advised me to check back before we come. That parking garage will be near the Marketplace.

We were to Disney Springs less than a month ago.
Even though there is ample disabled parking and will be more when the new parking garage opens up, Disney Springs is still a lot of walking and you will still walk quite a distance from parking to the first shops.

Disney Springs is a bit of a nightmare if you are pushing an adult in a manual WC. Parking at West End, means a few steep up and down areas, that are quite difficult, especially in the Florida heat. (I am usually headed to the World of Disney Marketplace side).

I will definitely take a bus next time, even though getting my son's chair on the bus is also a little tough, and I hate waiting for the busses.

We were pretty disappointed when we went to Disney Springs yesterday. We parked in the lime garage. When we got there, the sign said that the only spots were on the 5th floor. Imagine my surprise when we got there and there were only 2 handicapped parking spots! (Next to the same number of electric vehicle spots)

It's not a huge deal for us, so we just parked and unloaded and took off. I know, however, that some people really need the extra space, (not just close access), so I went to Guest Relations to comment. (Mostly thinking that they might want to consider additional signage, if nothing else).

Then we get to Guest Relations, and there isn't a door switch. I know this isn't required by ADA, but it is pretty commonplace, and this is a brand new building, and, this is DISNEY.

Then the CM just keeps blowing me off with, "We meet the regulations." Really? All she had to do was make a note somewhere.

It annoyed me enough that I went back and counted: 2 accessible spots on the 5th level; 2 spots on the 4th level; 9 spots on the 3rd level.

Too much traffic and an annoyed child who was telling mom to "just let it go, " prevented me from counting the 1st and 2nd level, which is where I guess the majority of spots are. Still.
