We will be staying at BWV in July for 2 weeks and was wondering how easy it is to transfer into the BW pool. We have always stayed at AKL with the zero entry pool and the pool chair, but this pool looks as though he will have to use steps? My son is 15, tall and uses a power chair. Any thoughts?

I believe that the Boardwalk pools have only bump steps (the real name is a transfer tier). This is a picture of one of the OKW quiet pools.

Some of the pools have added lifts - they are only put out when they are actually in use, so it’s hard to tell if the pool has one unless it’s in use. On our last trip in October 2010, I did walk by the Boardwalk pool and could not see any signs of a lift, but there may have been one and I missed it or they may have added one (when not in use, all you can see is a small metal circle that covers the hole the lift part goes in).

You could try calling WDW Special Reservations to see if they can find out for you. Special Reservations Line: (407) 939-7807

We're heading to the Beach Club on Friday, and since the slide is closed for refurb we're allowed to use the pool/slide at the Boardwalk. If it is warm enough and we venture over, I'll let you know and take some pictures. You might also want to look on the resorts board, I'm sure there is a thread for that resort.
