Accessible Minnie Van Alternatives

We didn't use them super often, but we did occasionally use the accessible Minnie Vans before COVID.

Given that it appears that Minnie Vans won't resume service anytime soon, does anyone know of an alternative that can accommodate two ECVs?

We will have two ECVs that don't break down and no, getting one that will break down isn't an option due to weight limits, nor is renting one in the parks for various reasons. Well, I guess technically the Victory 10 does break down, but it is a pain and I still don't think it would fit with a Maxima in an accessible Taxi. The Minnie Vans, while slightly.more expensive than traditional ride shares were a great option.

I didn’t think the Minnie vans accommodated two ecvs without disassembly.
Yes, they had I think 4 or 6 of them that did and more accessible vans that only accommodated one ECV. We used them several times, but you did have to specifically ask for them.

Additionally if all of the vans that accommodated two ECVs were unavailable, they would send two accessible vans that only accommodated one and not charge extra for the second van.

You might contact Mears their shuttle service can accomdate a wheelchair, but unsure about ECV or 2.

Mears Transportation (Orlando taxi service) offers handicap vans, but they can only hold one e check over at a time. You just need to drive up a ramp. If you have questions you can call Mears at (407)422-2222. We used them in August, 2020

Maybe you should rent a dodge caravan for your time in Orlando . The seats fold down like a cargo van.

We did that on our last trip and it worked, but we had three people. This trip will be just DH and I and we can't lift them in and out on our own, so that won't work. Not to mention, we won't need it the whole time, just wanting an option for when the busses are super busy or we want to get to another resort directly.

Could someone point me in the direction to find info on HOW to request a Minnie Van or Lyft that can accomodate an ECV? I looked on the Lyft app, and I don't see anything there. I used to love to take the MV when they first started, but since I started using a scooter at WDW, I started depending on the buses between resort and parks.... if ride share or Minnie Vans are available, I'd love to have that as an option for our family trip in February.

Thanks in advance....

Unfortunately Minnie Vans are currently not running, and Disney has no plans to operate them. I've also looked at Uber\Lyft with no success. Mears Transportation operates accessible vans. Mears is a regular taxi service available in Orlando area.

Thanks, Bjkandma, but with the news posted on the NEWS and RUMORS site today, it's anticipated that they will be returning very soon. I just would like to know how, when the time comes, to order one of the Minnies or a Lyft that is capable of transporting an ECV as folks posted above that they used to be able to do.

Thanks!!

Here's the link to the announcement from today:

If they do bring them back, then you will need to ask at the front desk for the number for the accessible Minnie Vans, then you will call for them, they cannot be ordered through the app and they get billed to your room, so if you are going to use them, you need to have charging privileges.

Thank you... Do you know if Lyft is the same?

Lyft doesn't have accessible vehicles in Florida, inf act none of the ride share companies do. Some of their apps advertise them, but you go to actually book one, it never is available. The Minnie Vans can also accommodate up to two ECVs, but you have to request that specifically when you call.

Will they be available for airport transport?
