Trying to get a meal plan in place and just wondered what happens if you have ADRs for a restaurant inside one of the parks and the park is full to capacity, can you get in so you can get to ADR?

We are going next July right on Independence Day for 14days, so I expect it to be busy. My fear is making ADRs, returning to the park at meal time and find we can't access the restaurant as the park is full to capacity. Am I right in thinking they won't let us in?

As we plan to return to the hotel for the afternoon due to the heat and crowds we can't stay in the chosen park ready for our ADR at dinner time if you get what I mean? :confused3

You are correct. If the park closes because of capacity, you will not be allowed into the park even if you have an ADR.

If it is a Stage 4 closing nobody can get in.

If it is a lower stage number, as long as you are eligible or have written proof of a reservation within one hour they will let you in.

If you are talking about a meal in the Magic Kingdom on the 4th of July, I would get to the park and stay there. Odds are good MK will hit a level 4 closure, which means even with an ADR you won't be let back in the park if you leave.

It would be a good idea to schedule a lunch ADR too to make sure you get a nice air-conditioned break in the afternoon. The plaza is a good choice as it isn't a stuff yourself to the gills type of restaurant food. Another way to take a break without leaving the park is to ride rides such as the train or Tomorrowland Transit Authority. You can ride the train without getting off for as long as you want, so you can have a nice long break if you like. You get a bit of a breeze that way too.

Thanks for the replies.

We had planned to totally avoid MK on the 4th of July anyways, heading to one of the waterparks then Ohana for dinner and watch the fireworks from the beach (as I have heard this is a good spot?)

What I meant was, can you guys see there being a problem for the rest of the holiday accessing the parks for ADRs? I plan on ADRS around 7pm most evenings, the ones being in the park on the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th of July. Will these days be as busy as the 4th?
