access to our points balance on the website ??

i'm not sure if anyone has investigated this possibility with disney's own, official dvc website....

but i think it would be really helpful if, much like credit card and bank websites, we had the ability to access our dvc account online....

why can't we view out point balances ?? cross check what we have available with what certain times of year are to book ?? maybe be reminded of banking and borrowing dates....

who knows....even bank, borrow or book on line ??

has anyone ever heard that the site would someday have this feature available for us ??

DVC has been trying to do this for several years but has run into internal resistance from the corporate legal department and others. It is still a goal, but don't look for it quickly.

With all the technology available and the fact that Disney is usually so progressive, I too find it hard to believe this has not come about yet. Of course, I supose the liability is great too.

what liability would there be ?? not sure what that means ....

do you mean, the possibility of there being a mistake made by the website regarding reservations....?? which of course is what this is all about for all of us, making sure our vacations are perfect....

but with the website technology available today....we should be able to immediately access our points, see if certain dates are available....see if certain rooms are even available....etc. etc. etc.

and we should be able to make our reservations right then and there....


personally i would still have many reasons to call MS, questions that i would want to ask a human being....so there would still be the need for operators in my opinion...

but much of the book keeping can certainly be done on line....

For what it's worth, occasionally when you call MS, you will receive a recording asking you to stay on the line after speaking with a rep to take a quick survey. One of the questions asked during the survey was the preferred method for making reservations in the future. One of the options was Internet, and I certainly chose that one myself.

It is kinda hard to believe that DVC hasn't been more progressive in this regard.
