Forgive me I for I may be losing my mind....

We went to MNSSHP in 2010 and I could have sworn I drove the ECV through the regular line.

A few weeks ago I was stopped and told they changed the procedure the day before and I would either have to walk or transfer to a wheelchair in order to ride.

I decided to walk because I couldn't see my 5 year old pushing me through - and the wait was under 5 minutes.

What I didn't plan on was almost falling because the floor was wet (it was raining outside and in one spot the texture off the floor was gone and it was super slick.

Just curious to see if I was losing my mind (that EVC's had been allowed previously) and checking to see if anyone else has had any experience there lately.

Any time I rode Buzz I would take my ECV through the queue. As I neared the front I would be told to drive through the door to the Exit side. Then I would park my ECV and transfer into a ride car. And when I got out my ECV would be there on the Exit side waiting for me.

This is what I remember...I was't the only person surprised they had changed it that day

They did change the policy recently. ECVs are no linger permitted in line for Buzz Lightyear Spaceranger Spin. Now, you must either transfer to a wheelchair or choose to walk if able...

The line at Buzz Lightyear is kind of twisty and has some fairly sharp turns in both the regular and Fastpass lines.
I have seen people with ECVs almost knock into the poles separating the lines.
My guess is they changed the Policy because of some kind of incident.

This change must be fairly recent ( as other have said) because in November we where in line with ECV's.

Has the policy changed at Disneyland too? DH and I have driven ECV's through that line and yes, it's tight to maneuver. My 3-wheeler is o.k. but DH's 4-wheeler doesn't turn as easily and he often has to back up and try those corners again. I can picture some rookie driver wiping out part of the wall in the queue, or running into someone.

Another issue could be that there is very limited space to park the ACV's once you transfer onto the ride.

I wonder if this is part of it as well.

We have always gone first thing to Buzz and get a pass to come back via the Fastpass line with my partner's ECV, same with Space Mountain.

That is true - there is very little space, which would make a need to limit the number of wheelchairs nd ECVs in the attraction.

I asked yesterday when we were there for the 24 hours of Magic Kingdom for leap year and was told that now all ECV's (not power wheelchairs) must be parked outside and if needed you can transfer to a manual chair like at Pirate's

Yes, I just left MK as well an no more ECV through the line. What was was most upsetting is they do not have any wheelchairs ready or available near the entrance or alternate entrance with the proper GAC. So, you must cross the major traffic flow over to the parking for the strollers at Stitch where in the corner they have the transfer wheelchairs, park your scooter, recross the major traffic flow then enjoy the ride! Nothing like adding some more steps for the disabled-Disney's great idea for making things easier on us, I guess?!?!!

I was there at something like 5:30am today. I was told that due to "safety reasons" they no longer allow ECVs in the line. Next time I go (at a more reasonable hour) I will ask for a manager to give more of an explanation.

When I was there in June with a broken foot, I went through the procedure Cheshire Figment described. I remember thinking that it didn'tseem like the best way to handle it. There's not much room at all, either for turning or parking, and parents let their kids run around and climb on the railings, when there's no room to avoid them.
