Accepted!!!!!

congrats to everyone who has been accepted. :woohoo: ten more long months before i can even apply

The letter that stated I was accepted was typed on the 25th of Feb. I got my letter 3 days later. So I was super excited that I was accepted. I still can't get over it.

Hi guys!

Congrats to everyone whose been accepted so far. Its exciting to see everyone getting their roles.

I received the processing letter a few days ago...so I'm now in for another wait. Hopefully it won't take until April 17th as the letter states, but I think that might be wishful thinking.

My boyfriend also applied and recieved his purple folder yesterday!! He received Hospitality which is what he desperately wanted since thats what he wants to do as a career. I was nervous about him actually getting it as he doesn't have hotel experience, isn't a hospitality major, nor is he doing the advantage program....all things my interviewer told me were pretty much required for the position. So I'm soooooo happy for him. He'll be great, he's fantastic with people

Now the only trick is making him go if I don't get in. He's claiming he can't. We'll have been together 4 1/2 years by the time the program starts so its not exactly a casual relationship or anything. haha. But I'd be so angry with him if he passed this up. Its such an incredible foot in the door for his career.

Anyway here's hoping to everyone else who got the processing letter too!!! This is my last semester at school so this is my last chance!!!! eek.

Also just curious. I've strongly considered doing the program several times before but the timing was just never right. But in my past research I've never noticed talk of these letters. Are they new this season or did I just never notice??????

Congrats again to all those already accepted. Still hoping I'll see you all there. And sorry to all those you got rejected. My heart dropped when I started reading rejections so early!!! But in my experience the notion that everything happens for a reason is very very true. So keep a lookout for something unexpected to be headed your way. :goodvibes

If you're right, I better be picked to stay at Cindy's suite when I get there... every night. :rotfl:

I was selected for Fall Advantage in Transportation. It was my second choice, but before I interview I considered making it my first choice anyways. From what I understand, there's a good chance I'll operate one of the boats. I never thought I'd be a boat, its a big blue watery road. Poseidon, looooook aaaaaat meeeeeeee!

Finally...

I got my DCP package in the mail today; I had my interview on the 28th of January. The postmark on my package was the 25th... not sure why it took so long, but I'm happy I finally got it. :)

Merchandise Fall 2009

See you guys in August! :goodvibes

Congrats! For transportation, you could either be working one of the boats or the monorail.

Disney recruits a semester before, so depending on when you end, you might be able to apply for another program. You just need to be in school when you apply.

Welcome to the Dis! Transportation is going to be at the top of the list when I apply, so I was wondering what questions you were asked? Where on the list was Transportation and what else did you apply for?

Congrats!

I've been accepted for Summer '09 for attractions!! I'm seriously hoping to be a Great Movie Rider again!!

Thanks, for Transportation it was basically a laundry list of yes/no questions, whether the responsibilities were understood, if I had valid driver's license and a question about comfortability with heights since the monorail goes 70 feet off the ground at one point. I mentioned I had experience driving a boat,(inevitable since I'm from Ft. Lauderdale) I don't remember in response to what question. Transportation was second on my list, I also applied for Attractions(1st on my list), Main Entrance Operations, Merchandise, Character Attendant and QSF&B.

So my friend (who got in but isn't going without me) let me rip up her purple folder today.. :) She was saving it for me... haha. That was nice of her - she figured it would make me feel better, and it did. And then, of course, right after I shredded it we realized that she never declined the offer, so we had to sort through the pieces for her username and password. Whoops! hehe....

HAHA yes I'm so glad you quoted that.

I'm on a boat AND it's going fast AND I got a nautical-theme pashmina afghan!

You just never noticed. They have had them for a long time.

Thanks so much!!!!

Knowing they've been around before inspired me to dig a little deeper in old facebook groups. Seems like all hope isn't lost. People DO get in after receiving these letters. A couple of girls even commented that they got their top role! I'm not reaching my hopes that far at this point, but I feel a little better.

The rest of my fellow pending folks. Most the people on the thread I was reading on the SP09 group said they got their final answer two weeks after getting their processing letter. Every semester is different....but that gives me hope that we won't be sweating it out until April 17th.

I just got my acceptance letter today...i got accepted as a vacation planner. has anybody ever done this? if so, what did you think?

COngrats! That was my top choice but didn't get it so lucky you!

Anybody have the breakdown of accepted roles?? Haha I guess I could figure it out...seems like there have been a decent amount of acceptances since last time. :cool1:

Congrats to everyone!!

lets see...

Ok so the Type A in me was wondering what positions are getting offered.

Out of the 21 people (1 person didn't put what they got) who have made it, it has panned out with these positons:

8 - Merchandise
5 - Attraction
2 - Hospitality
2 - QSFB
1 - Housekeeping
1 - FSFB
1 - Lifeguard

Just thought I would share

Assuming this info is correct... it was tallied on 2-24-09 ...adding to that makes the total up to...

10--Merch*
7--Attractions*
7--QSFB*
2--Hospitality
2--FSFB*
1--Housekeeping
1--Lifeguard
1--Vacation Planning**
1--Main Enterance Ops**
1--Custodial**
1--Transportation**

* denotes more accepted since last total
** denotes added to the list since last total

again one person accepted did not answer to what role s/he was accepted into since the new total.
34 roles accepted.
2 no answer
36 total acceptances.

I accepted and my check in date is May 20th. Anyone else going to be there?

Jennifer
