Acai berry

Is this the same as the MonaVie?

I am not familiar with MonaVie, but sambazon sells Acai products. It's a starting point to find out more about the Acai berry.

I just bought some acai juice at our Vitamin Cottage. They also have it on their website. I sure hope it works for sleep. It looks like it is 50-50 here on the board for whether it works or not.

Isn't monavie the one where you try to get everyone to sign up and there's something in it for you?

Yes, it's another one of those network marketing companies like Amway and Mary Kay and Primerica where you make money when you sign others up underneath you. You make little money when you sell the product but more from people in you team. That's why those bottles are so expensive

I've drank it and like the product, but hate the MLM aspect of it. DH on the other hand got a terrible rash all over his body. He has had allergies before and one or more of the berries in the juice caused a reaction that took months to reverse.

According to the OP it comes in pill form. . . is there any extra benefit to drinking it vs. taking a pill??

I tried the acai berry drink from GNC. It was the most horrible stuff I ever tasted. we all bought it at work since it was cheeper then Mona Vi. anyhow it didnt really do anything for me or anyone else for that matter.
but ambien does..

Maybe you have to mix it with something like juice or club soda.

I'm the OP. I bought simple Acai pills at Wal-Mart. I'm hoping they are the purest form of Acai, but have to research that yet too.

I had no idea my post would get so many replies. My only intent was to see if others are taking Acai and if they are sleeping better than pre-Acai.

I'm just so darn happy that I'm sleeping better than I used to!

I asked Vitamin Cottage last night about the difference between the pill form and the drink and she just said that the drink gets in your system faster. I chose the drink form because it also had other fruit that is good for you. Not sure if it makes a difference and I didn't ask the lady. I talked to two different salesladies and both were surprised to hear about the sleep benefits. I hope it works!

I tried mixing it- made it more unbearable since there was more to drink. some just sucked it up and did a shot every morning..

I bought the "Bossa Nova" brand acai juice from the commissary today. It was a little over $2 in a 10oz glass bottle. Tasted good! Almost reminded me of cheap wine. (like the blackberry merlot type stuff LOL).

Bossa Nova's label claims to have the highest % of course of acai juice. I threw out the label but it spouts info from Texas A&M study where it was the highest antioxidents compared to other kinds.

Just for comparison, my juice has 6.5g (6500mg) acai berry per fluid ounce which is a serving. What does everyone's brand have?

Ok the Bossa Nova label says higher in antioxidants, lower in sugar. Has no sugars added but does have agave and passionfruit juice added. First thing on the label is wild-harveted acai juice. It's like $2.50 for 10oz

I've spent a lot of time researching the different brands and how where the berries come from, pesticides, organic, etc. I am so confused! MonaVie (sp) doesn't even list how much you are getting in an ounce. It said everyone is jumping on the Acai Berry bandwagon and a lot of what is on the market is hype, how do you know? Maybe I'll try the Walmart stuff, it beats $100.00 a month!

Well, my Herbal Essences conditioner has acai in it. Not sure how it tastes, but it was only $4.

That's exactly what I thought. I pray it isn't just hype. I would love to sleep the whole night.
