RPR and USF Day 3 (1/01)
Our Cast
Me DH (41), DW(40), DD(15), DD(7), DD(5), DMIL(61) and DFIL(63).
We slept until 10 am New Year's Day after a late night at the park and puttered around the room until our stomachs beckoned us to the parks. Our main objective for the day was to catch our favorite rides, get the little DDs faces painted and enjoy a nice sunny day at USF and IOA.
We rode the slow boat from RPR and headed back to USF. We headed toward the Gramercy Park area to get the DDs their painted faces. On the way there, the girls got a picture with Shrek's girlfriend and Robin Hood. I've never seen the Shrek movie and can't remember her name. My DFIL and I took the girls to the face painting booth while my DMIL, DW, and oldest DD headed to Twister. After the face painting, we took the DDs to see Spongebob then headed to Nickelodeon Studios for the tour. Our DDs were too shy to participate in any of the activities or games. We headed toward San Francisco for lunch and ate at Captain Quint's Chowder House. The food was very good and the seating near the water was relaxing. After lunch, we rode Jaws and Earthquake then headed back to IOA to ride some other favorites like the Spiderman and the Flying Unicorn. The two younger DDs loved the Flying Unicorn and rode it countless times. We visited Seuss Landing and rode all the rides again including Mt. Grumpit. We watched the Grinchmas show again then headed back to the Flying Unicorn for a few more rides for the little DDs.
The parks closed at 7:00 PM so we headed to City Walk for dinner. Although the parks were not too crowded, City Walk was packed. We decided to eat at Pat O'Brien's for dinner. The food was very good (I had a Mighty Muffaletta) and the Fuzzy Leprechaun allowed me to unwind. We started to realize that our trip was nearing its end. After a little shopping at City Walk, we headed back to the RPR for a good night's rest and a little television (Bowl Games).
