Abu from Aladdin

I was watching old reruns of America's Funniest Home Video's the other night. Anyway one of them was clearly at WDW or DISNEYLAND. It really looked like Adventureland. Anyhow, the video had ABU in it as a meet and greet character. I have never seen pictures of him nor heard of anyone seeing him. Anyone know if he still is in circulation ever???

I did a quick Google search and I found no results for Abu. I think that he is probably still there (I haven't ever seen him there) but some characters that are that are just really rare to find. If he is there, it's probably just a "right time, right place" thing.

Oh, I wish Abu was out and about!! I never seen or heard anything that implied he got out reguarly at WDW. I think I read on another board (not to long ago) that he was a character at an non-USA Disney park. And I think this other board had some rumblings about maybe getting Abu out in Morocco at Epcot or something, but it was probably just rumors and wishful thinking!

Oh, Abu would be cool, though!

Yeah, I wish Abu would be a character at WDW if he isn't already. I don't think he's as popular though so he may not be.. Either way, all characters should be there. Maybe we'll all be surprised and he'll be there.. Who knows?

DD asked Jasmine and Aladdin where Abu was when she was 4. They responded very quickly and said he was swinging around in the trees somewhere- they never skipped a beat. DD has always wanted to see Abu- Jasmine is her favorite princess and she loves anything from the movie- except Jafar of course- which she won't even look at and especially won't go near him at WDW. Anyway, we'd love to see Abu too!!!!

I saw that television program also, and Abu was signing autographs and it did look like Disneyland.

He looked just like he did in that link.

In the tv "video" a family was getting autographs w/ the red "disney" books. Then a little baby, who Abu was holding, let it's formula make a 2nd appearance on the character so to speak. I think he would be a great character for meet and greets. He's so mischevious.

I'm on one of those pictures too... Abu is a really funny character in the park. These pictures were shot last year before park closing in Main Street.

I agree... he looks a bit creepy, but it still would be neat to see him!
