As i was putting my dd (5) on the school bus this a.m., I saw one parent talking to the bus moniter, and then pulling her son off the bus.
She came over to us, and told me that she has noticed a terrible smell (gas or something) in the school the other night when she was running girl scouts. Turns out - the fire dept. was at the school right now, and trying to find out where the smell was coming from..
Well, i headed right over to the school, sure enough, the buses were parked way off property in the fields, and all the teachers were outside, and the fire dept. was there, the school dept. was there, and ambulances.. Turns out there is a gas leak or something of that nature,
And it was going on since last week! Teachers told us they complained about the smell in their classes last week, and yesterday (one kid told us) there was no heat in his class, and he had to wear his coat all day!
So, i decided to go pull my dd off the bus, i was not about to send her into school not knowing what was going on..
Then, when i went to pull her off the bus, the bus driver told me quietly, that they weren't supposed to be telling the parents what was going on!!!!!
And she then told me that at least one teacher had to be taken in an ambulance last week b/c she got sick - due to the smell!!!
ARE YOU KIDDING ME??????!! And my child has been in the school for the past few days with this going on!!! And no one thinks it's ok to tell the parents about this??!!!
I am honestly sooooooooo upset over this right now.. It will be amazing if my dd ends up making it thru the public school system! NOW, i know why parents homeschool!!! This to me, is unacceptable
