We had booked the California Grill at 7.45pm to coincide with the Wishes Fireworks (which according to wdwinfo happens at 8pm) for our October trop

This was our special 13th anniversary treat to eat here and watch the fireworks - it turns out that 29th October is a MNSSHP night and there is no wishes. I have now checked every other day and the restuarant is booked - back when I made my reservation 6months out I was spoilt for choice on days I could have chosen.

I know the websites can be wrong and things are subject to change - but it is still wrong when I look at it now - I just feel so gutted as I was so looking forward to dinner here and watching Wishes.

I know it sounds silly but I could just cry as this was the one thing I had planned and really wanted. I am pleased I have got my fantasmic package and Le cellier for our actual anniversary - but am so bitterly dissapointed and to see that the wrong information is still on the wdwinfo site is annoying - who do we contact when we spot these mistakes. I would hate for anyone else to feel as sad as I do due to this incorrect information.

Please someone give me some love as the magic has really faded with this discovery.

NOOOOOO!!!! don't worry- you will get to see the hallowishes fireworks and they are amazing- my favorites. Hang on in there and enjoy!!!!!:jumping1:

You will get to see fireworks - just not the ones you planned to see. Now I can understand that this may or may not be any consolation for you if you have no interest in the Halloween fireworks. I think if it was my anniversary I would be wanting Wishes to celebrate the special occasion.

I think you have every right to be upset and I don't think it's silly at all (FWIW).

Hallowishes are on at 9.30 - our reservation is at 7.45pm - being a Signature - I like to think that the pace is a bit slower so do you think reasonably we could still be on desserts at that time?? - If we pace ourselves and throw in appitisers!!

Quite easy. General advice for the Cali Grill is to allow around 2 hours. Also, if you have eaten there, even if you are finished with your meal, you can stay for the fireworks - or at least that was the story last time I heard.

Even if you finished your meal after ten minutes they will still let you watch the fireworks from up there :)

I wouldn't worry too much about pacing yourselves.
From our experience, and from what I have read on other trip reports, the service there is notoriously slow anyway. Not so great for those with kids who want their dinner, but good for people like yourself who don't want to be rushed.
There is another advantage about Hallowishes over Wishes. With the halloween fireworks the display is more spreadout, and seems to come from different locations around the park. Wishes is pretty much all behind the castle - which looks really odd from CG as you are watching it from sideways on.
The picture below was taking from the balcony at CG. The fireworks to the left are where the castle is.

I would stick with it if I were you - I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

I think you will just about be finished with your meal just in time to go out & watch them. It will be perfect timing and a lovely romantic way to end your anniversary meal. I love HalloWishes and am sure you won't be disappointed.

Make sure you tell Disney to note on your booking that it's your aniversary. :wizard:

Awww ty all - I feel much better now - I think I was just consumed by the sudden panic!

Looking forward to this meal so much again now :)

yay glad youre feeling better now :cool1:

you may also have to wait for a table, so that will help you being at your table for the fireworks. :)

As others have said Hallowishes is a brilliant fireworks show and I'm sure you'll love it from CG. From our experiences at CG (had 'special' meals there several times now) you'll have timed your meal just right to catch the fireworks. Also really enjoyed my birthday meal at Artist's Point last October. Wish I could say the same about our anniversary meal at Le Cellier in April! The food was delicious, but the service was not up to Disney standard. I know it's very busy (we'd tried to get an ADR for quite some time) and I appreciate it's in a park rather than at a hotel, but we found it to be very cramped. The server was disinterested and rattled off his spiel so quickly, it was impossible to make out what he was saying. Bread was brought quickly, then starters very quickly and entrees before we'd finished our appetisers! Instead of waiting until we were ready plates were shuffled and then shoved onto the table. The food was very good but the whole ambience of the place and the terrible rush to get you in and out completely spoiled the meal for us. Same sort of prices as CG and AP as well but none of the care. DD was with us and at that point was a server in the Rose and Crown. She was horrified (as were we). Hope you fare considerably better and we were just unlucky. We wont go back. :sad2:

Have a lovely trip.

Our server at Le Cellier was brilliant, his name was Jeremy and it was his very last day working there too!! Friendly, efficient, just an all round good server.
Our onto really disinterested one was at Jiko, not bad per se, just not as good as most.

:goodvibes

Actually it was our server's last day as well! We reckoned he had switched off a day early.

Cali Grill is REALLY slow - we were in there a good two hours - you can stretch it with coffee as well ;) I haven't seen them yet but the Halloween fireworks are meant to be the best ones :goodvibes

Every time weve eaten there weve waited bewteen 15- 45 minutes for our table even with reservations and have been in there for over 2 hours with our food, so i wouldnt worry too much, enjoy the fireworks, there brill x

some pixie dust for you and a hug. I got married and ate at the CG and I wouldnt worry We waited 30 mins from our booking time and I was sat there like a blamange!!!!!
