Absolute Worst TS or CS and Why

Worst CS: ABC Commissary. The food is on par with hospital food - just really gross. However, I do like the seating. It's nice to sit in booths that aren't on top of each other.

Worst TS: San Angel Inn in Mexico. The food is just so bad and the service is terrible. But it is so pretty to sit next to the river in the dark.

Worst CS - Sunshine food area in Land Pavillion...actually, it could be the best food on-site (we'll probably never know LOL). Each time we've intended to dine there, it's been a gridlock...nearly impossible to traverse the open area to get to it - what a zoo!

OT - The lines for Soarin' can be INSANE. Last time we were at Epcot, the Standby line came out of the archway, snaked back & forth the entire FastPass area(which had run out before 10am that day) & then ended in the middle of the food court seating area.
We had gotten FastPasses earlier :teeth: ...

agnes!
Btw, the food there is actually pretty good.

Worst TS - Liberty Tree Tavern Some folks rave about the food, but we're not big fans of Stouffers. Service was very spotty. *Plus* Minnie Mouse made a rude gesture(and there was NO mistaking it!) when my DH called her (entirely honestly, not trying to be snitty) "Mickey".

Worst CS - Captain Cook's at The Polynesian - The food didn't seem so awful, but the set-up drives me crazy! And it's too small for the size of the resort.

I actually had to come back to this one because I couldn't think of my Worst TS and CS. I usually enjoy all of my meals in WDW but here are two that finally came to mind. TS-Planet Hollywood, long wait, poor service, food was just ok. Worst CS- in the Land, just too difficult to go thru the different stations and find a table. The food was cold my the time we found a table plus by the time our complete party of 4 sat down , some of us were already finnished eating. Not very relaxing.

P.S interestingly enough, I love most of the other places listed on this thread...CS-Cantina San Angel, Commissary..are some of my favorites.

TS: That's tough - we read a lot of reviews and avoided many of them. I'd guess the restaurant in Germany - fatty meats, soggy apple streudel - just not my favorite (but not inedible by any means, just not great)

CS: That awful cafeteria place downstairs in the Land Pavillion - right by where you do the Junior Chef program? I've never thrown food away at WDW before. We had some kind of beef flatbread with green oil on it - the flatbread was GREASE-laden and tasted like recycled fast food oil, the beef was cut very thick and couldn't be chewed through, and the oily green sauce was totally flavorless and just added more grease to the entire dish. The kids ate things from the cold case - fruit (rotten strawberries), cheese squares (threw away a few kinds, and they like goat cheese and gorgonzola, so they're not picky kids), and hardboiled eggs. Ugh. Just awful.

However - Cantina De San Angel was very good when we went there - we ordered everything without meat or with chicken instead (weird ground beef thing after watching a Dateline) and the nachos were just fabulous and HUGE. The churros make it all worthwhile, too. ;) I don't remember what else we got, but that was one of our favorite lunches at Epcot.

And MGM, we had the Fantasmic package at Mama Melrose's and, again, we were very happy with the food. I think my husband got the vodka sauce (penne?) and the flatbreads were good, too. We were in a hurry to get outside for the parade (stupid early dining times for Fantasmic) and didn't get to have dessert, but everything we had was really good - and better than the chain Italian places around here.

Worst TS service? Liberty Tree Tavern. It took forever for the non-existant waiter to bring food. He never refilled our drinks. We couldn't find him. We had to go to the lobby to ask for our check after waiting a long time and even asking other wait staff. We were one of a number of very upset customers that Tuesday night. He came running out with a bowl of apples and the check. What were we going to do? Eat the apples without silverware like horses out in the lobby? Definately NOT worth well over $100.

we had the same experience with snail paced service a month ago. that can ruin a meal having to wait forever for every thing. finally, i took our kids outside as DH waited an eternity for the check..he said another table was complaining about ANOTHER slow waiter he was leaving.

I've gotten lucky with TS meals so far but the worst CS meal I've had was the one in Mexico. Yuck all around. If the CS was that bad for me, I can only imagine what the TS restaurant food is like. :(

I agree 110% about San Angel Inn. I have "L-O-V-E-D", highly enjoyed or at least just liked every other table service meal I have had at Disney. Sure, sometimes I find something is a little cold or a place is crowded or a server makes a mistake with an order, but those are minor things in the overall enjoyment if everything else is good. The only bad experience I have ever had and it was TERRIBLE was at the San Angel Inn in the Mexico pavillion. Stale chips and everything that I had tasted as if it had come out of a tin can. From the salsa to the shrimp and pasta dish. I heard several others diners complaining about the food quality and the slow service. I would NEVER go back...unless it was to eat JUST dessert because the setting is truly amazing.

As far as counter service, I don't really think I have had a bad experience. Although some of them are not as good as others none were so bad I would say it wasn't a "personal taste" thing. I personally do not like turkey legs so that was my worst cs meal (but it was a personal preference thing for sure, I saw other people around eating those turkey legs with gusto and huge grins). :confused3 To each his own! The other "bad" CS food I had was at Pizza Planet. Again, I am guessing that to be more of a personal preference since everyone around me looked as if they were enjoying their meals.

DH and I were discussing this yesterday. Only table service restaurant we would not go back to is Sci-Fi Dine-In. Food was mediocre, and considering how good it has been at every other restaurant, definitely not worth the money. Also the service was slow and inconsistent. Sad really, because the car was romantic in its own way.

Worst CS is Electric Umbrella, disgusting beyond belief. Mom, sis, and I couldn't believe a Disney restaurant of any type would serve such complete trash.

Worst TS is Rose and Crown - just there in March - food was inedible for the most part. Yes, I complained to the chef, she came out, offered to make me the same entree again?!?! Of course I am thinking, "you just learned how to cook in the past five minutes?" She did not take the meal off my bill.

Worst CS is ABC Commissary -- DH and I think ABC means "Already Been Consumed" - sorry to say that food was inedible too - my kids actually cried because they were hungry but the food was so bad. That was in 2001, but I won't give them another chance.

With regard to Sunshine Seasons - this is one of my favorite CS places - the grilled salmon with olive tapenade is a cut above CS. We go at odd times because, as reported, people waiting for FP return times often fill the place up.

TS: Mama Melrose's. In a word....yuck. We were hurried, the food tasted horrible (except for dessert). I know many would disagree with me, I just didn't like it.
CS: Pizza Planet. The absolute worst on property.

It was strange...because pizza planet was horrible, but Pinocchios pizza in MK, wasn't bad... :confused3

In a way, I think this thread is pointless. (No offense! :) ) It's hard to make a decision unless almost everyone says something is bad (like Hollywood & Vine). However, I ate at Hollywood & Vine in 2002 and it was delicious. Also that's when Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, etc were there and they were dancing and "singing" with a track and it was just so great. I was disappointed when they closed it.

Same. I just ate at H&V last month and all of us thought it was good. I had a couple things I didn't really like, but that was just personal preference (and my inclination to try everything at a buffet, even if it's something I wouldn't normally order) and had nothing to do with food quality. My only complaint was that some of the little mini cakes they had for dessert were a bit dry. I've eaten there in previous years too and always found it to be a good meal.

I can't really think of a restaurant at WDW that was totally bad... I've had some dishes I didn't really like, and the occasional slow server, but overall I've had good experiences. I guess I've been lucky.

Yea, I tried to eat that also and got about 2 mouthfulls down before giving it up!

Worst TS, Chef Mickeys. The Buffet was cold, the place dirty and our server must have gone home early.

Worst CS - ABC Commissary in MGM Studios... They serve some strange food. (However I LOVE the Mexico counter service at EPCOT and am shocked to see so many bad reviews.)

I have been blessed and have had many good TS experiences, so nothing to note about a bad TS experience :yay: .

Thanks for all the feedback. We had the same experience at the Yachtsman when we were there last August for the meall plan. Our waiter was distracted and ignored us. He also didn't understand the plan or Disney Dining Card. We had a really good experience at Rose and Crown with our waiter Adam, though. If you make an ADR for a late dinner, they take you out oonto a private little deck for a really great view of Illuminations. :wizard:

TS- Brown Derby- wine stain on tablecloth (it was dry, so we know it didn't just happen), cold food, poor service. That cobb salad was just disgusting and looked like regurgitated food. The only saving grace was the atmosphere and the grapefruit cake.
WCC would be a close second with the cold greasy meat we were served and the idiotic server.
CS- Studio Commissary is pretty bad, but then so is most of the food at MGM. We do appreciate the frigid a/c there, but that's about it.

TS- Concourse Steakhouse. We ate there(sort of) on May 5. The seafood bisque was marginal. My Dh prime rib was quite boring and had grissle. My filet was basically RAW and was filled with grissle. Our waitress was very slow, had no personality, and did not bring my glass of wine until we reminded her 3 times. By the time I got it I was halfway thru with my entree (or at least the half I ate of it). The ONLY reason we did not complain and send back the food was b/c the hostess and chef went out of their way to accomodate my autistic DD (who was upset b/c she wanted to go on the "chef mickey ride") and her food allergies.

CS--Restrantasaurus(sp?) in AK-- was hot, long lines, burgers and buns were so dry even condiments didn't help. My hot dog was OK but nothing to write home about. Only tasty thing were the ff.

Unlike many here....we loved the Cantina CS in Mexico.

TS: Would have to be Trail's End Buffet. The price was not good and the food was just :sad2: . The food was luke warm and the table we had was furthest from the buffet table. It took us forever to get there and then had to wait for a table for about 20 minutes. I went because alot of people said it was the best and the reviews were good but never again.
CS: haven't encountered any bad ones yet.

NEXT TRIP TO WDW: :grouphug: Feb. or March 2007 at POR

TS Marrakesh. Chicken severely undercooked. Sent back. When it came out, dry bland meat and 3 quality chicken. Kabobs were dry and tasted like tomato sauce with no spice. Kid's meal was a disaster. When a kid leaves burger and fries only once touched, it stank. Belly Dancer and band were ok and desert great but couldn't save it.
CS ABC Commisary. We went early before the rush. But food had already been sitting at least way too long. Yuck Yuck Yuck. And we left 1/2 hour later just before the lunch rush came in and it was all still sitting there 1/2 hour older.

TS-Nine Dragons (worst Chinese anywhere)
CS-Pizza Planet, with Pinnochio Village Haus as a runner up
