Absolute lowest crowd dates?

Parade taping this year is December 4th and 5th.

We've been in January and in September.

January the crowds feel lower - less people walking around. However the waits for rides in September were about the same IMO (but there were more people roaming the parks - who knows what they were doing they weren't riding the rides!)

September is HOT. January weather is hit/ miss - we've visited during some cold spells and other times when we roamed around in shorts/ t-shirts. My preference would be for January.

The 5th is Sunday, and my understanding is that they don't film on Sunday unless they have rain on Saturday, which was apparently the case last year.

I've always been in September and I can't recall ever waiting in line for anything. I remember in '98 going on Tower of Terror 5 times in a row with no wait in the middle of the day. Right now Touringplans.com is predicting 1 - 3 level crowds our entire week (last week of Septmeber).
