Absolute insanity in MK crowd levels last week...

We were there Thur 24 - Fri 1 and our experience was the same.. we were shocked at the crowds and Tues-Thur was the only "low" crowds.

We were there Jan 22nd to 28th and the parks were more crowded than we thought they'd be in January (it was our first trip in January). Then to top things off, there were a ton of Brazilian tour groups around :sad2:

If we go again next January, we're definitely thinking of going earlier in the month.

Sounds like there were a lot of good photographers in WDW last week. Anyone have any pictures they care to share?

When we did the Keys to the Kingdom tour a couple years ago (which is excellent BTW), we were in that area and our guide said "look out over Liberty Square - can you see the ground? Then it's not crowded!"

In April, we have Crystal Palace reservations for 8:05 on a morning when the park doesn't open until 9... I expect to snap off a few quick empty-park photos before chowing down.

We did the keys tour in 2001 and it was great. The underground (first floor) part of the tour was about half an hour to 45 miutes. We saw the sewing room and much more.
We also went about a year ago and it was nowhere as good. For the tunnel part she led usdown one tunnel and we stopped and watched a tv with a video about something. Then we went back up and saw where tinkerbell lands during the fireworks. That was all the backstage part. The tour is just not as good as it used to be.

So it wasn't just me that noticed that. I just call them the flag people, travelling in huge groups from place to place wreaking havoc on the wait times. I think a bunch of us should go down to there tourist spots and just stand around in the way. Oh, and better yet, when we get in large large groups, like they do at Indiana Jones or Fantasmic, we should cheer back and forth to each other like the rest of the crowd cares. It's not a soccer game, sit down and be miserable like a normal tourist, would you! I don't get them, but as long as they are having fun, I guess thats what counts. Stinkin' flag people.:sad2:

Nice pictures, CathrynRose. It didn't look too, too crowded in your pictures, either. Really nice shot of the bird (and other animals) - I still haven't been able to get a good one. I like the selective color shots too. :thumbsup2

I had asked about changes, and they said that they do change the area of the tunnels that they go into every now and then, but denied that after 9/11, they were intentionally keeping people in only one section.

We originally went backstage behind Big Thunder Mt, and later went backstage via Main St (the Emporium side, I think) and probably went down the same area as you, but we did walk a little bit of tunnel, and there was no video. But we were down there for probably 20 minutes or so. Certainly, I'd love for it to have been more extensive, and even have started in one area and popped out in another, but overall, it was still a fun, entertaining, and educational tour... I'd do it again in a moment.

Mostly likely, I'll probably do the big 3-park backstage tour next, though the price is a good bit higher for not much more actual tour time. I have no idea when that'll happen, though - it's hard taking something like that with a little kid to take care of. :) (We were able to pawn him off on grandparents that day last time!)

The Brazilians:mad:

I just got off the bus at epcot when my phone rang. While talking a group of them walked by me and started to chant.

I yelled out "hey brazil knock it off, your not the only ones here!!"

They gave me a dirty look and knocked it off. Then I noticed them sitting around listening to their guide.

I encountered them about three times in the park and they were as quiet as a church mouse.

So if you see them acting up get into their face.
