Absolute Cheapest rooms near Disney!

We're staying offsite in a lovely condo for under $60 a night. (we're returning guests so they gave us a heck of a deal) A WDW value resort for the same time is over $100 a night. Even renting a car and paying for parking, we're still hundreds of dollars ahead. Add in the savings of eating offsite and having some food in the condo, and we're definitely saving money by staying offsite.

The LBV Comfort Inn must have gotten a big upgrade, new management and complete renovation. We stayed there for a night or two before our DVC villa stay several years ago and it was horrid. I was worried that someone would break into our bug infested room and try to steal my nasty towels. And they only had breakfast for a charge.

We have stayed at both Springhill Suites & Fairfield Inn in the Marriott Village @ Little Lake Bryan. It is directly across I4 from the DTD hotels - just behind Bahama Breeze & the buffet place.

SS of course had bigger rooms with a living area - if you can get that for just a bit more than the Fairfield I would do that one first. Both SS & FI offer a continental breakfast. There is also a Courtyard on site, however, normally Courtyard does not offer cont. brkfst. - not sure if they do at this property or not. At SS our room had 2 beds as well as a fold-out sofa. And a kitchenette type area which could be important if you were back early enough to try to do any meals in the room. Free parking - Free WiFi. Gated entry -you need key card to get into parking lot.

They have a regularly scheduled shuttle (we did not use it). They also I believe have ice cream & pizza on site.

Although mentioned with using points above, when we priced in this manner it was much more 'point effective' to pay for rooms here & use points at a different location. Even though prices on these paid in cash are very similar to any other Marriott value property you would pay for, their point values are about double for redemption because of being a prime destination.

No hesitation - if we were staying off-site it would be the FIRST location we would choose. I actually considered staying there for our conference at Gaylord Palms this last year but found a good price on Mousesavers for GP so it just wasn't worth the drive back & forth between classes.

I think this is where we stayed too. The rooms smelled like mold so bad I requested to a new room and that was just as bad. YUCK!!!!

That's exactly what happened - a multi-million dollar renovation. I had a horrific one-night experience there just like you described about two years ago. Fast forward to October 2009. We needed a hotel for one night after MNSSHP and decided, after reading some new reviews and finding a room for $30 a night, that we would give it another chance. I'm so happy we did! From the lobby to the rooms to the security to the front-desk employees, I didn't recognize the place. We returned to take advantage of the $30 rate once more this past December for 3 nights. If you're looking for a hotel that's clean, safe, inexpensive and close to the Magic, I wouldn't hesistate to recommend it. It isn't the Grand Floridian by any means, but the rooms are definitely on-par with a Disney value resort.

As an aside, the rooms have new beds, new carpeting, all new furniture, and new showers. A refrigerator, microwave, and coffeemaker are included.

The Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista has gotten decent reviews, and sometimes it's on Travelzoo for $29-39 a night.

I have stayed here twice, once in a "family room" with my 3 children and once in a regular room, and it is a good value. Staff is friendly, room is clean, pool is fine, plenty of parking... It's not a Disney resort, but it's a good, basic hotel. Very short drive to Disney property, traffic can be a bit crazy during busy times but it's a short drive so not too bad.

If I was going to pay 69-79.00 for a offsite hotel I would just stay at a wdw value resort...so you can get all the perks that come along with it.

I agree is is near double, and some times the specials I receive are even less then double. PLUS at least there are kitchen items as microwave, coffee pot, fridge, sometimes in several places we stayed there was even a full suite with kitchen and living room.

I have been reading were the area off site are including mutiple shuttles to Disney and other attractions, even with the parking fee, the comforts are getting very attractive.

The last Disney trip was $900 in room only. An off site 2 bedroom suite with breakfast and shuttles is $699 all taxes etc.
I would not mind the $129 at Value if at least there were ammenities. The only one I see is the parking. As some of the off sites even have EMH.

I am really getting tired of working so hard at vacationing on site. Trying to cut food/eating cost at the world. The novelty is great, but I am getting too old and exhausted, trying to nickle and dime to get through a vacation.

I want to be staying in a place like home, not a bed in a room.

But it will be awhile until I can go again with the economy.

thanks for the reassurance for the comfort inn suites.. we will be there the end of Feb for a cheer competition.. I forwarded the link for travelzoo a few months back to the team since disney wanted $150 per night to stay at the allstars.. I dont think so.. so we all got the great deal and Im paying $65 for two nights.. I will request a parking lot view also..

Check out Expedia when you decide which hotels to look into. They offer some good deals too sometimes.

Seralago ewwwwwwww stayed there for one night (thank goodness that was all there would not have been a second) and it was on par with our local mom and pop type places. Not filthy but definately no frills and had that odor......u know the one I mean....like cleaning supplies trying to cover musty smells. This used to be the Holiday Inn Maingate but I don't think that they kept up with the rooms. Not quite rent by the hour but closer to that than the Ritz. The entrance and lobby look nice and had us excited for the deal we got $40 for the night but then we saw the room entrances and opened the door. We got what we paid for I guess. Were only there for about 8-9hrs so didn't eat there or see any of the other "amenities". This place was actually advertised in a professional newsletter I belong to so thought that it might have been better.

We have stayed in the Buena Vista suites and Best Western WDW for a night or two before moving onsite and would recommend the extra 30-40 bucks to stay at either of those. Both are very nice, clean, and comfortable. I would definately recommend onsite though especially if you have never stayed at WDW before. We have stayed at all of the moderates numerous times over the years as well as POP and ASMusic. Always have had a great stay with Disney

I've stayed at the comfort inn on palm pkwy (just north of DTD). The rooms were clean and nice and the rate was decent.

the motel 6 on 192 across from old town is a really old hotel, and the bathrooms show it. But the rooms weren't terrible and the property was clean. Plus they allow for pets.

There's a Holiday Inn express on 535, just south of the Epcot entrance. I saw it when it was a La Quinta when it was first built, but it still looks the same. And it's only a few years old. The rooms where very nice and large, and there was a nice breakfast buffet. But I have no idea what the going rate is.

your best bet is to search hotwire or something to see what the going rate is. You can also check in the travel saver book, you can find them at McD's. And often times will have good discounts in them. Just remember, you can't reserve the room if you use it. it's first come, first serve. But when we used to travel to Disney on a whim for the weekend, we used these books a lot and found some great rates.
