My son has alot of pins that are Disney that I have bought over the last few years on Ebay. Some say Disney made in China, Some say Disneyland or California Advanture, some say official pin trading.

Are they all tradeable or do they have to say offical pin trading ?

Cathy,

I am not sure about the made in China ones. The way I understand it, that will trade for any pin that says Disney on it. Some have said that they do not trade for pins by Sedesma (which you can also buy on ebay - so stay clear of these). The ones that say Disneyland, California Adventure and the official Disney pin trading will all trade perfectly.

Hope this helps
Amy

OK so they need to say Disneyland, WDW or official pin trading. The made in China have to stay home. That will help for more buying on Ebay too. I don't want to keep buying ones he can't even trade.

Thanks everyone.

No, that's not true. In fact, the MAJORITY of official, tradeable Disney pins that you buy from the parks or disneyshopping.com are made in China. All you need to look for on the back is the Disney copyright notice, and try and make sure none of your pins are the cheaply-made Sedesma or Propins versions (although some cast members have been known to accept them).

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this already, but make a visit to pinpics.com and do some searches for the pins you've got. It's a great way to find out very quickly if your pins are official and tradeable.

Good luck!

All of the pins have the Disney copy right except one that says pinpros.com. So that one must not be a correct pin. Thats much better. It means we have some. Plus I'm bidding on more because so far he doesn't have many he wants to part with lol

Thanks !

Try to get some duplicate pins for trading. Chances are, if he likes some of the pins enough to want to keep them, someone else will want to trade for them. If he takes the duplicates, he doesn't have to worry about losing any of them, either by accident or in a trade made by mistake.

Here's another tip: If you live near a Disney Store, visit the clearance section. They sometimes put leftover pins there, priced around $3 or $4. These are also perfectly tradeable at the parks.

We built up a supply of cast lanyards from ebay before our last trip. I only bid on lots of cast lanyard pins and will not pay more than $4 - $5 per pin.

I bought a number of pins on ebay before our last trip, some bigger then others but all Disney pins and the kids had no problem trading them. With that said, my nephew bought some pins at the Rainforest Cafe in DTD because they were in the clearance bin and even though he had no problem trading them in DL, he could not trade them with CM's in California Adventure, they would only trade Disney pins. We weren't sure if the kids (13, 11, 9, 6) would be into pin trading but wow they were, it was fun to watch!

I've bought pins on eBay twice. The first bunch were really nice. The second bunch (from a different person) say copyright Disney on the back (with the little c, not the word "copyright"), but they don't look nearly as nice. Are they still tradable I wonder? I hope so.
