I requested that we have our wedding cake served for dessert after our dinner at O'hana and Karen, my WC told me that they will box it up for US to take to dinner. Has anybody done this?
Our ceremony is at 2:30 and dinner is at 5:30, do I have to keep it in the limo with us while we get our pictures taken?
Do I have to call O'hana and talk to them about this? I can't see us walking in with it and them not knowing about it.
I read somewhere that they charge a cutting fee or something, is this correct? and if so, how much is it?

they did it for us a Yachtmans steakhouse & they never said anything about a charge,,,,but then again that was back in 97

But it was nice, we had some after dinner & when we were ready to leave, they brought us a huge box with the rest inside...my mom snagged it cause she wanted to snack & I was ok with that...i didnt do the 1yr with my cake....not a big fan of cake anyway.

sorry i wasnt more of a help:)

I am sure DIsney can help you out.. I dont think they will let you keep the cake in the car... I hope everything works out for you... I am sure it will Disney wont let you down

we had to box up our cake and take it to Ohana's because of the time constraints. We were literally at our cake and champagn reception for 15 minutes before they kicked us out. We had no problem with Ohana's cutting the cake. I did not let Ohana's know because we thought that we would have time.
We were not charged for the cake cutting. I did let Ohana's know at the time of making reservations that it was for our wedding dinner and they seemed to not be suprised when we showed up with the full cake.
As far as leaving the cake in the limo- it will be safe. We took pictures right after the wedding and through most of our reception time. You have the same limo and driver during the course of time through your wedding. My mom left her purse with the limo driver and other people in our party left other things in the limo and the driver just locked them in the trunk and they were fine.

When I talked to Narcoossee's about the cake, the lady said they have a cake stand for it. However, they cannot refrigerate any cake for us that they don't bake or provide. They don't charge a fee for cutting if we do it ourselves. I talked to their bakery group leader about cakes over the phone. He recommended if we cut cakes ourselves that we should order one with buttercream icing rather because it's easier to cut than fondant or some other type (I don't remember).

I have a 2:30 wedding as well and dinner is at 5:30. I haven't decided whether to serve the cake or box it up. At issue is I don't know if my guests will be hungry and would like to devour the cake after the ceremony or if they can hold out for dinner.
