? about using Costco code for a rental car

I just booked at Alamo for our trip next week and got a great rate using a Costco code and a code for $30 off. Do I need to show a costco card when I pick up the car? My sister is a member but we are not. Thanks.

Think you can do at machine and avoid the counter with Alamo. I am sure an expert Alamo renter at MCO can tell you BUT I used Alamo in PHX a few years back with Costco discount. At time I wasn't good renter and didn't know how to use machine so I went to counter. Believe it or not lady did ask for my Costco card...thankfully I had kept that in billfold. Know there is way to bypass counter with most rental car companies so you shouldn't have to worry.

You can be asked for the car at the exit booth even if you use the kiosk. MCO is pretty lax at asking for these things, but, that does not mean they won't ask.

It is possible you will be asked for the card. Rule of thumb, if you are not entitled to use the code, don't. Even if you use the kiosk to check in or online check-in, they can ask at the exit booth for the card.

I checked in at the counter when I was there last Sept (didn't know any better) and was asked for the Costco card. For our Oct/Nov trip, I bypassed the counter and checked in at the kiosk. Lo and behold, as we were exiting the garage, I was asked for it there. I don't know if I have a dishonest face or what, but had to show the card my last two trips. He didn't look that close at the picture on it though, just glanced at it and made sure the name matched my Alamo reservation. Sure glad I brought it.

Thanks for the replies. When I use codes that I read on the dis, then I wonder if I am going to have to show proof. I had signed up for Alamo insiders and the rate is only $15 more for the same car, so I will just go with that reservation. Thanks.

Why not join the free Alamo Insiders program often times the have a coupon code for $30 and some times $35 off for Insiders members- problem solved with $30 saved.
