Hello again,
I am new here and have been doing a LOT of reading trying to figure things out. I even think I have figured out some of the code words....or abbreviations...LOL

I have a question about Universal in Florida, is it a disney property?
Is there transportation easily accessible if you are staying on the Disney property.
The links I looked at seem to suggest there are two Universal parks? Universal Orlando and Islands of adventure and City walk. I know in California the City walk is next to the park. So Im just a little confused...LOL..Nothing new there.

Thank you!

Becky

No - Universal is not Disney.

You can take a shuttle (Mears Transport) to Universal from your Disney resort... book in advance for pick up, will cost you about $30 r/t... I think it'll cost that much, don't quite remember.

They have a webiste:
http://www.universalorlando.com/

and right here on the DIS, there's a Universal discussion forum:
http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=30

Hope this helps!

Thank you for the reply, I didnt think that Universal was Disney but it seemed that way from what i was reading. Thanks for the info....

I'm sure you'll hear this a lot if you go over to the Universal boards, but it is worth your while to stay onsite at Universal while you're visiting those parks.

Yes! If you plan on going to US/IOA during a busy time, definately worth booking a hotel on site for the FOTL privileges! :thumbsup2

also, if you stay onsite at universal, while they do have buses and water taxis,it is just a short walk from the rresort to the parks. only prob: the resorts are all deluxe priced, no value or moderates.

Hi, Sweetascanbe. I am from Kamloops,BC. We just got back from WDW on Oct. 13. We stayed on property at WDW at POR and took a cab for two separate days to Universal, one for each park. It cost us about $25 each way. Mears transport is a cheaper alternative if there are just one or two of you but once there are 3 or more, you probably will break even or come out ahead by taking a cab. Plus they pick you up right at your hotel. We were not going at a busy time and it would have cost more to stay in a Universal hotel so we decided just to stay put at WDW and cab it. There are two parks at Universal, connected by CitiWalk. It is easy to walk from one park to another if you have park hopping privileges.
