HOW do you do it? We will be staying at POP hopefully in August and I want to try the different restaurants in the different resorts. I know that POLY is really close to MK and so is Contemporary...but how would you do it for like breakfast??? would you have to ride the bus to a park then ride the bus back to the resort restaurant??? Any help would be great!!!

check out this web site at the very bottom right hand corner is transportation wizard it is just awesome. Some times the Disney transportation is best other times not. If the resort is close to you or the park you're at drive if not disney transportation. Also I planned my trio around my reservations, like one night we ate at yactsman steak house so we went to Hollywood Studios that day. Good Luck.

Well for the contemp you would take the bus to MK then walk to CR, IMO that's the quickest. For the Poly you could again, take the bus to MK then the resort monorail (if that early) to the Poly.

Lots of times for other resorts it's sometimes easier to pay to $12-$20 for a cab to a resort.

Transfer is easiest at the park closest to the resort you are trying to go to. The PP are correct, go to MK for CR (and I agree walking is fastest) and to Poly try monorail (you can go to the CR and pick up the monorail there too, prolly same distance to walk than the MK monorail and you are a step closer) or the boat. You must allow sufficient time to get there. From time you leave Pop, I would allow at least an hour in case you have to wait for any connections

If you are doing dinner, same.

Fastest and least stressful, is taxi. Drops you right at the door :)

If you have specific times and locations, let us know and we will try to give you the best advice. The website that a pp linked you to I believe is outdated, or was based on last reports back i read :)

We booked meals close to the parks we were at when we could:

Nacoossee's on arrival night, no park so we took bus to MK and boat over to the Grand Floridian.

Coral Reef, took monorail from MK where we'd spent the morning to our later lunch ADR.

Boma ate there after spending time at AK, quick bus ride to AK Lodge after AK had closed for the day.

Chef Mickey's, had a late breakfast ADR. Took bus to MK and walked back to the Contemporary. Some have reported that drivers have dropped them at the CR early in the AM, but that's pixie dust and I would not plan on that happening.

Hollywood & Vine we changed our plans for the day and ended up going form MK to H&V. Longest trip we took and not simple: monorail to TTC then bus to MGM and walk to restauarant. Would have been best to have already been inside DHS for that one. But after and Epcot AM a certain 5yo wanted to ride Goofy's Barnstormer for the 15th time. :rotfl: It was his last chance so he got his wish.

We usually do dine at other resorts during our stay. Sometimes we drive, but other times we do these senarios that the PPs are saying. (with the buses):goodvibes

Plan your park days according to your ADRs if that's important.... Or take the bus from the park you're at to the epcot resorts... or another resort to where you're dining.;)

We always do 'Ohana at the Poly on our arrival night and do Chef Mickey's during our stay for breakfast. I find these are best to drive to (since I usually have a car) because it takes like 10 minutes to get there instead of relying on the buses to get you to the MK & then the monorail. :rolleyes1

Dining at the resorts is such a great experience. Enjoy it!:goodvibes

We eat in resorts close to where we will be - or we cab it. Time is money at Disney - and while the transportation system is pretty good it can still take a long time to get from resort to resort.

Note on breakfasts - being at the parks at opening is one of the first pieces of advice to maximize time. Ten minutes early is a much better touring plan than ten minutes late. And the parks are usually pretty doable until just about when breakfast ends. We've done our share of early breakfasts, and we've tried to time then to be at the parks for rope drop - we are usually at least a few minutes late - character meals in particular seem to always take longer than we planned. Few people get to stay at Disney long enough to do everything they wish on each trip - make sure you understand the trade you are making for breakfast (which will likely either be sleeping in a little or less crowded park time - or both).

Ok, thanks for the good advise....another question popped into my mind though....if you drive to say POLY from POP and have breakfast, can you leave your vehicle there all day and not get a ticket or towed? and just ride the monorail over to MK and then back to POLY and drive back to POP?????

No, you will be expected to move your car after your meal and will likely be issued a 3 hour parking pass.

A better option is to drive to the TTC, park your car for the day and walk or take the monorail to the Poly for your meal. After your meal you can take the monorail to the MK from the Poly and then return to the TTC via monorail or boat after your day at the MK.
