? about transferring points

I want to make a reservation at the BWV for June 1008, and I am 10 points short. I have a september use year. If I have 10 points from another member transferred into my account, I need then to transfer 2007 or 2008 use year points, right? I think I am past my banking guidelines so I couldn't bank them at this point. Any advice would be nice, thanks!!

Whether you can bank points received in a transfer will depend on the use year of the person from whom you get the points and what they have done with banking not your use year.

Example, you could get points from someone who has a February use year and those could be points issued to that member Feb 2007. You could then bank them by July 31, 2007 for use in June 2008 because that member has until July 31 of this year to bank up to 100% of his points.

You could even get December 2006 points from a December use year member and bank those points as long as that member still has the ability to bank those points -- for example, he would currently be at the point where he can still bank up to 50% of his points and if he has not banked up to 50% you could bank those received as long as his total banked points remains under 50%.

Note, you could avoid the issue entirely by simply borrowing 10 points from your Sep 2008 use year.

Thanks so much for the response, I understand it now. I would borrow the points from 08 but the 150 that I have are from my 08 use year. I am borrowing points left and right and have 300 now. I guess I need an add-on.

I was thinking of posting a request on the rent/trade board for the 10 points and I wanted to understand the ins and outs of it. Thanks so much for your help.
