Its impossible. Im trying to collect as much rare as I can and I have except obvious things like Inferno, Stitch hat, Sparrow, Gray Suit. There is no way I can ever get any of those. Anytime someone has any of the above for trade I offer loads of my rare, I mean over 150 items for it, and then someone comes along and offers just a stupid stitch hat and thats it for my offer.

Just venting after I was incredibly close to finally getting Inferno earlier today in my trade room and someone came in and offered stitch hat and some mansion clocks. ARGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rant over, for now.

Why not just trade some of your offer items for Stitch or Sparrow or something and add that to the items you didn't trade away?

Sorry that is happening to you. That happened to me alot in my offers for Sparrow or Stitch. So what I started to do was when I had my offer rooms open and somebody who had what I needed came in. If somebody would try to steal my offer I would boot them. It is very rude to try and take somebody elses offer. I started off at first to warn people however that didn't work so I just booted them. If they have an offer for inferno they can make their own room. They don't need to go in yours and take it.

I totally understand where you're coming from. I've given up trading for an inferno because I don't have a stitch hat (or two!) to include in my offer. Some items are pretty much standard required in trades now-a-days.

I offer EVERYTHING. There is nothing left more to put in my offers I offer my clock fire walls pirate Q stuff full costumes and TONS more and theyll think about it or something but then someone with Stitch or Inferno or Sparrow or whatever else comes in and its POOF.

I feel for you. It took nearly 3 months and 140 items inlucding some major rare and beta to get my Inferno (see the thread/history here). I would bump my thread and sit in my trade room for hours nearly every day. It can be a long and discouraging process, but it is possible. I had trade-jumpers show up a cuople times. I think I did boot occasionally if a friendly warning didn't help. It's even harder now that VMK has re-released so many items. Of course they also re-released a few more Infernos into the wild. Still...

Cap had a good idea to use some of your items to trade for something smaller than Inferno, but would add to the overall value. I did that. Do you have your Inferno Offer listed here at Dis? What's the link? I'm not in the market to sell mine (sorry, to dealy paid for), but perhaps I can offer some pointers/suggestions on how to work yours up?

All I can say is Chin-Up and Good Luck. Persistance will Win The Day.

And here's some reading material on the "Value of Inferno" for you:

Just a suggestion, if you find somebody with a inferno/ stitch hat. grey mansion suit, and you dont want anybody else to get it. Try closing up your room :)

I feel your pain. Beenm playing since day one and never win an inferno or been able to trade for one. I do not have stitch. BUt I am lucky to have a player letting me borrow these items. When I first started VMK I had never played video games except mario golf and racing. So It took me about a year before I made any decent credits to buy things. I should win the award for most improved. When I first started fireworks old mix I thought getting 28,000 was a good score LOL. Finally after a year of effort made it to my highest at 251,000.

Now I just play to enjoy building rooms, meeting friends and have stopped trying to win any awards or compeitions :) Makes it much more enjoyable.

I have never had inferno, stitch hat, or other very rare stuff in my life (well, except for Single-use Inferno, but that's a different story ;) ).

I really don't care if I ever get those items. VMK is about having fun, not getting all the rare items you can get.

One of the important keys to trading (and avoiding getting scammed) is to trade multiple rare items for fewer rarer ones. Work up to a stitch hat, then maybe more, then up to an inferno, to whatever your goal is. It can take quite a while, but it seems like the only way to go. Keep getting the weekend pins, they seem about worthless, but of course after a while they can be pretty valuable when traded with full sets.
LittleDragonErin is probably one of the best people you can ask about trading, she's worked her way up to quite a bit.

Heh, post 1111.

I want to second shaymojacks strategy.

Trade for firewalls, trade the firewalls for clocks, trade the clocks for sparrows, trade the sparrows for stitch's. It can take time, but it works. And remember dont ignore firewalls when your working your way up to a stitch hat, because your going to need to do it all again anyways! GL

I know how you feel. Everytime I offer both of my sparrows for stitch and mansion clock, people always add different offers. It's really anyoying! :sad2:

Why not just trade some of your offer items for Stitch or Sparrow or something and add that to the items you didn't trade away?

Yes TRY to offer some of your items for it, if your lucky someone might accept:)
