About to EXPLODE!

Several days ago we booked a 9 night/10 day stay at the GF in May thanks to a 40% off pin we received.

Hubby and I thought it would be a good idea to not tell the kids about the trip in advance. We are planning to not tell them until we are driving to the airport the day that we are scheduled to leave.

So, I am completely doing the happy dance as I am in 7th heaven about having a 9 night/10 day vacation at the GF but I have NO idea how I am supposed to keep this trip a secret from our kids for the next 5 months. I've hardly been able to keep quiet about it for the past two days.

We kept our Christmas trip a secret for almost a year... we will finally tell the boys the night before we leave tomorrow night in a scavenger hunt around the house..

If we can do it, so can you!!!

Good luck keeping the secret. DH and I booked our Christmas trip in August 2008, and we didn't tell our kiddos until Friday after school. We're currently driving down I-75 and should be at the resort in about 2 hours. Keeping it secret was a huge challenge, but the payoff is even bigger! Good luck!

Well, I know exactly how you feel!!!!!

I booked our March 2009 trip back in October. We will be there March 26-April 4!! Staying at CBR. This is a surprise trip for our DD. She will be 12 on Saturday (Jan10). So far, I have not spilled the beans and she knows nothing about the trip!

We live only about 30 miles from the airport and pass by it at least once a month or so when we go shopping, etc. When we go by we jokingly say "where do you want to fly today?" Usually the response is Florida.

Well, the plan is for me to finish the packing the morning of Fri March 26 and have the luggage secretly stowed in the car before DD gets home from school. Then we will leave the house in the afternoon (DD gets out of school early that day for the start of Spring Break) and I'm going to tell her that I have some shopping to do. As we approach the airport the ususal "where do you want to fly today?" will come out and when she says Florida, DH will say "okay" and pull into the airport!!!

Well, I can't wait to see her face!!!

The problem I have is that I am busting at the seams with excitement over this trip so I am trying so hard not to let this out. I am spending time here on the DIS to get my fix and let everyone here know so that I don't ruin the surprise!
