About to buy...Questions

We have been talking to our guide and asking so many questions, I feel I'm pretty well aware of what we're getting into. We'll be doing the 160 points for Kidani and we'll get the SSR developer points. I'm from Orlando so we go down a lot to visit friends and family. We have "slept" on this for a few months now and I think we're ready.

My question is, do you think it would be good to buy now or to wait until we go down there in Aug? Do you think a new promotion will come out, a better one? To me, this one seems excellent.

If we go through w/ this tomorrow, put the down payment down and get started, about how long will it take? Also, we have a pkg booked for Aug, everything paid for, will we be able to upgrade our MYW tickets to AP's and use the DVC discount?

Okay, I think that's it for now. I'm just so excited it's crazy!!!!!

Have you thought of asking your guide to look at your August package and see if - if you bought now - you could get DVC accommodations for the same time period, using your August vacation money as part of your purchase price? Being able to book that trip with your developer's points could save you a wad, and you could go ahead and buy your APs instead of your MYW tix.

I have another question, we get the points from this year, our UY will be Aug. 1st then next Aug. we'll rec. another 160 points so does that mean next Aug. 1st we'll have a total of 320 pts if we do not use this years points before next Aug?

Yes, You would have 320 points to use. You would have to use the 2008 160 before the end of your 2009 UY or lose them.

In terms of APs. once you are a DVC member, which will happen pretty much as soon as you put down your deposit, you can get the discount on APs.

True as long as you bank the points before the deadline. If you do not bank them and do not use them, then you lose them. You probably knew this but just wanted to mention it in case you were assuming they automatically carry over.

If your buying direct from Disney then it will all happen very quickly. Your guide can give you your member number and you should be able to get your AP's. If your MYW tix are part of a package for August, when you check in, ask that your park tickets be put on a separate card from your room key. Then BEFORE you go to any parks, go to guest services with those unused MYW tickets and your DVC member number, and they should be able to upgrade you to the DVC AP's with you just paying the price difference.

Can someone tell me if this is true and if so how we would go about doing this. We Just went on the tour today and are considering doing this this week. I would of course put my down payment on my Disney Visa. Is this a special promotion that I should have known about in the tour today? Help, I would love a 500.00 gift card!
