Just want confirmation that its not too cold for Volcano Bay or that the pools are heated. TIA!!!

Heated is a relative term and also depends where you are from. Disney heats their pools I'd guess to somewhere around close to 90 and it was still kind of cold to swim in beginning of April. I'm from Florida though. If the pools are heated to 86 or something, it could still be quite cold an uncomfortable getting in and out of the water. Of course with any luck, there won't be much in the way of lines either.

That's the main thing...it can get chilly in Orlando in December.

Just called Universal and the answer is that the pools are indeed heated! :flower1:

I don't believe their wave pool is heated. At least it wasn't the last time we went....that thing was freezing. Maybe they changed that(I hope). I'll prob be there tomorrow so I'll see if it's any better than it was. Everything else was a good temperature other than the wave pool but like others said it's a bummer getting in and out of water when it's cold. Then again I only consider Florida cold about 3 times a year so it's entirely possible you won't have a problem.

Yes, I know it can get chilly in Orlando in December. Geez, I don't know what to do now... maybe I shouldn't book for so many days. Thanks everyone!

For me I would suck it up to be able to go on the rides without lines, but it all depends on where you are from and how warm the water is heated. When I lived in Boston, we went to the Ocean in Maine, that was ridiculous, but we managed to do it and I doubt the water was above 70.

I imagine that if the weather really gets cold they will close the park. I believe WDW closes their water parks if the temps are below 60. Back in March they closed them and the temp was 62ish.

Coming from the mid-west so we'll be able to put up with the cold water a bit. :cold::cutie:

If the weather is cold the water will feel warmer. It's the air you know have to worry about.

Midwest is chilly, but you don't go to waterparks there when it's cold. And if you hit a December like the one in 2010...

They definitely close them when it's too cold.
