I'm thinking of checking in very early for the BWV, but am a little nervous about keeping my luggage in the car while I head over to MK or AK. I know I can give the bellhop my luggage to hold, but how much do they get tipped when giving it to them? And do I call from my room, once I get in it, to have them give me my luggage back? How long does it take to get the bags delivered? How much do I tip then? It'll probably be just 2 bags.

Also, for valet parking at BWV, what's the current tip? I know to give both when dropping it off and then when it's picked up. How do I ask them to get my car? Do I call from my room or just go to the lobby to ask them? How long does it take to get the car from valet parking?

I want to be sure I look like I know what I'm doing when I ask for these services! Thanks for your help.

I would not leave your luggage in the car. When you pull up to the valet area, just say "checking in". The valet will take the bags and put them onto a cart. The tip is up to your discretion but I usually give $1 or $2 a bag. Then when you get to your room, hit the bell services button and ask for your bags to be delivered. It usually only takes about 10 minutes for them to bring them up. Again, $1 to $2 a bag.

I give valet $2 each way if they are prompt. You can call from the room, there's a button on the phone for valet. It's usually pulled up by the time we get down there or only a short wait. Valet and bell services are usually pretty good at BWV.

Have a great time! :D

DebbieB-Would you tip the same bellhop twice if he did both (remove the bags from the car and deliver to the room)?

we tip on service...usually around $2-5 per bag per person and the same for valet..dont ever feel obligated to tip if the service doesnt match up with what is expected..but also feel comfortable tipping extra for better than expected service

Yes, tipping the same bellhop twice in a situation as described would be correct. You would tip if the person who brought the luggage out of holding were other than the person who accepted it from you, yes? Having your luggage held does necessitate an extra tip over having your luggage brought directly to your room on check-in.

It wouldn't likely be the same person. The one who takes the bags out of the cart is a valet parker. I don't think they double as bellman or vice versa.
