We just got back from our eastern cruise 2 days ago...

Before we left, my DD15 was upset by remarks made about the Stack and the lack of organized activities...

Now that we are back, I can tell you with first hand knowledge (well, okay, my DD's...) that the counselors there were excellent, and did a wonderful job in sticking to the schedule of planned activities....

They had my DD and others running all over the ship all day long for scavenger hunts and other games like a "glorified tag", where they had to run around and "kill" their opponents, by getting them to do various things...

She had a blast and was not bored at all, nor was she left with time of unplanned activities....

My dd hung around a group primarily that was 5 girls and 3 boys... I met them all, several times, and found them to all be very nice and respectful...we even took turns having them at dinner as we and other parents went to Palos (and didn't want the teens to be dining alone)

It is truly a great experience for the teens on board...Disney does well for this very tough age group...

Any questions, you can email me...

We were on the western the week before you. My teens had a great time, although they never did anything in the Stack. I went there several times to find out what was up and thought it looked pretty nice. However, the problem was that there were 279 teens on that cruise and they didn't all fit in the Stack! My teens reported that it was always very crowded and hard to get a spot in the activities. Since my teens met other 'disboard' teens before they left on the cruise, they met up with them and had a great time doing the other activities listed in the Navigator. They liked the chip-it golf, basketball, and shuffleboard, movies.... They had a great time, too.

Anne,
DDs experience compared with your's. She can't wait to go back and LOVED the programming in The Stack. She did comment that the counsellors were "teen wanna-bes."

My DS 15 has been the the teen club twice (not in the Stack, but when it was Common Grounds). He loved it. Played the games like Anne said and really liked the counselors. He had a great experience and would do it again.

This is Anne's daughter and I'm just glad to hear that not everyone out there thought the cruise was boring!!! That's all I kept hearing on here before I went and it had me freaked out - the first one wasn't boring at all and neither was this one. True we did go to the movies and stuff, but whenever I went to the Stack there was always stuff to do... And you're right... The counselors ARE teen wannabe's... ESPECIALLY during the karaoke!!! :teeth:

I'm so glad to hear this about the teen program. We're going on the repositioning cruise in May and I was concerned about the activities for our 13 year old dd. I looked at some of the old navigators but couldn't tell too much about the activities offerred. I'm happy to hear the positive comments.:D

Not sure if this has been reported yet but according to the "Stitch Monitor" (the quarterly newsletter for Walt Disney World Annual Passholders - usually called the Mickey Monitor) after the Wonder goes into dry dock it will also have the ESPN Skybox removed and will be replaced with "Aloft," sister-club to the Magic's Stack.
