OK all you veterans....please explain to this Disney rookie the draw of the MVMCP that would make me want to spend the $$$bucks$$$ on the tickets. I assume those prices are in ADDITION to the park admission. I read a couple of posts, but all I saw was cocoa, cookies & snow. I can get that at home in Ohio for darn near free!!! LOL! I also read that much of the entertainment at the MVMCP is also available at other times during regular hours in the park. If this is true, why would anyone go & pay the extra money? I'd hate to get there & find out we really would have liked it but missed out, but I also don't want to spend that much for tickets & be disappointed. Please HELP!!!

We spent the money last year. It was okay for doing once. We didnt go to any shows, we arent really show people. We had the hot coco, cookie, the picture taken. The big draw would be to ride the rides with less people.

If you are only going to have a very short time to visit WDW (for ex: Friday, SAt and Sunday.) Then I would buy a friday night ticket because less people are allowed in to MK and the ride lines would be shorter than on a Sat or Sunday (in theory)

But we were there all day before our Tues MVMCP, we had done 99% of what we had wanted by the time the party started. So DD just rode more rides with little lines, we watched wishes, and woke her up for the late parade. I dont remember the snow, but being from MI that really didnt appeal to me.

I had read all the great posts, had gotten my ticktes the weekend they went on sale, made my LTT ressie and was very excited. But in reality, neither one lived up to the expectations I had. This year I think we will spend the money and go see Cirque again. I felt that was a better value for the money.

OK, my opinion will probably differ from the rest of the board, but here it is. We did the party in 2004 on Nov. 30, which was a Thurs. We were at MK the day prior and went to the party about 4:00 after spending the day at Epcot. We accomplished SO much more at MK the day before the party! During the party we were going to see the Twas the Night Before Christmas show 1st, but by the time we got to the theatre there were no seats left. This was an hour before the showtime. So we decided to go to a later show. When we came back 1 1/2 hours before the next show we got a seat in the last row. I would never do that again!! Plus, our DD7 had to sit on our laps, there was no room for her.

The night we were there, the weather was perfect and still 80 degrees all night, needless to say we didn't reallly want hot chocolate, but we tried some (WAY TOO HOT!!) DD couldn't even drink it.

We did see some characters, but the lines were fairly long for them. Some were 20 min. We rode BTMRR twice without having to get off, but then all of a sudden there was a 15 minute wait, don't know where that crowd came from.

As for the parades, we watched the 2nd one, but had to stake out a spot an hour ahead of time. Then at the last second we get shoved over and crammed in by latecomers. :furious: That makes me SO mad!! But it was happening alot that night.

So overall, there was alot of standing in line and staking out a seat VERY early! There were WAY more people than I was expecting. We did so much more the day before, and didn't do too much at the party. For the money, it was NOT worth it for us. The party was the most crowded we had seen the parks all week.

We are going to WDW the same time this year and are NOT going to MVMCP!

I've been to the party three times and am going again this year. Obviously I enjoy it! Here are the benefits (for me, at least)-

-a VERY uncrowded MK
-Santa hats on Dumbo (corny? yes, but so what!!!)
-lots of characters out and about and very short lines
-Christmas-y feel (more so than the daytime)
-Jungle Cruise in the dark - you have to do it once in your life!
-Christmas Parade
-Snow on Main Street (it snows where I live, too - just something magical about snow at WDW)
-Less crowded fireworks
-Christmas shows

Now, how much this is worth to you monetarily is your call. As I said, I've enjoyed it enough to do it 3 times so far with another planned. If you can, give it a try.

I agree with all of mrsltg's reasons for liking it! Pick a day in the middle of the week to avoid the crowds. We've gone twice and never had a crowd to deal with. I enjoyed being able to walk right on many of the usually crowded rides (Peter Pan's Flight, Space Mt., Small World, Dumbo, etc.). Also, there's something neat about being in the park that late (We stay until after midnight). I was a little dissappointed to see the shows and parade were exactly the same both years though.

We usually switch resorts in the middle of our stay and that's the day we go to MVMCP. We arrive at MK around 4:30 and only need party passes to get in. We get in a good 7 1/2 hours of uncrowded play time! And are still able to see the parade, fireworks, and all the shows.

Be sure to stand on Main Street for the parade. Snow in Florida just seemed so 'magical'...even though I could see where it was coming from.

I think it is a must do at least once. It is really magical to be in the MK at night with all the Christmas lights and everything decked out in decorations. The snow on Main Street is neat, the crowds aren't too bad and the lines are reasonable. We usually see the shows, ride a few rides and see the parade. The Christmas version of Wishes was FANTASTIC last year. I thought it was really good. And, as a bonus, the picture is nice and the cookies and cocoa taste great (especially if it is as cold as our night last year).

You can accomplish most of the stuff during the daytime at the MK, but you cannot replicate the feeling or see the Christmas Wishes, so I would try the party at least once.

Everyone has there own opinion of MVMCP. My girls and I go every year. Something about it makes it very special for us. I love seeing the CHristmas Parade at night. We usually go to the later parade after watching Christmas wishes. I love walking down Main Street and the carolers signing christmas songs. I have gone 3 times now and sometimes yes it can be pretty crowded at the beginning of the night. As the night goes on it gets better and less crowded. We dont mind getting to some of the shows early or the oarade, we just have a snack and the cm's play games with the crowd while waiting for the parades.

In December MK closes at 7 or 8 so you never get to experience the rides in the dark, that is kinda cool.

My most magical memory is when we walked around the back of the castle and Cindy's carriage was there ...no line and she danced with my daughter. It was one of those magical memories you never forget.
