on a whim i read "Disney After Dark". it had some issues but i kinda liked it...so... i went hunting for "Disney At Dawn". i took me a couple of months of shelf surfing to find it and i am glad i did. Pearson seems to have worked it out and has a pretty nice franchise on his hands. Yesterday i bought "Disney In Shadow" and as soon as i am done with the latest Jack Reacher novel i am doing it..... anyway........it is nice to see that the company (disney) is getting behind this series and promoting it....i will put myself out on a limb and project either a Disney Channel series or more likely a movie franchise is in its future. anyone else like these books or have an opinion?

I'm in the middle of "Disney at Dawn" right now..almost finished with it. I checked out "Disney In Shadow" from the library and I'm excited to start on that one. I do like "Dawn" a little bit more than I liked "After Dark". There are issues, I think, with both books but I try to keep in mind that the books were written for a younger audience (not that I'm that old! ;) ).

The reason why I really enjoy these books is because of my Disney addiction. I can totally picture exactly where the characters are as the stories go along. Even when it said that they gathered by the restrooms in the entrance of Conservation Station I thought "yep, I know exactly where that is." :lmao:

Gotta Get To Disney! :moped:

I love the Kingdom Keeper books! I haven't read the last one yet, I'm saving it for an upcoming vacation, but I enjoyed the first two. It isn't great literature, but they are fun to read if you are a Disney World fan.

I have read the first two and have a hold for the third book at the library now. I like them. It is nice to revisit specific areas and attractions at the parks. I just keep in mind that they are works of fiction so everything might not be perfect.

I am in the middle of Disney at Dawn and am enjoying it, but a little less so than after Dark, and I think that is only because I am not as much a fan of Animal Kingdom. Anyway, I think Pearson is onto something with this series. I doubt a movie or television show only because it would probably require backstage like settings and I am not sure that Disney will be willing to go that route, it is one thing to write about it but yet another to put a picture with it.

I was all ready to download Disney in Shadow to my Kindle...and it isn't available!! Grrrrr

I can't rationalize buying it in hardcover when I have the Kindle. Sigh...I will either just have to wait longer or block out an afternoon to go sit in a book store and read it there!;)

My 11 year old son has read all three books. He also likes the detail of specific places in the parks. After reading the last book he wants to check out some specific spots in Epcot on our next trip

Our whole family loves these books. I just read the latest one and finished it a couple of weeks ago. There are a couple of threads about this on the Disney movies and books forum that Corey created a few months ago.

I hope they made a movie!!!

I bought all three from Amazon. I like what I've read so far. I read the first one too fast. I have a habit of devouring a book and missing the details. I want to go back and read it again before continuing to the second one. I read another post on another forum that mentioned that there were mistakes in the book. I'm not sure if that's true or not but another reason to read it slower.

Anyone else find park mistakes?

I'm hoping to pick the latest up this weekend in Buffalo as it isn't in our bookstores yet. Loved the first two books.

The third one isn't available yet at my library. I just read the first two. I enjoyed them, and recommended them to our school librarian. She is always looking for young adult books.

I really enjoyed the scenes in the utilidors because I took the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. I also got a kick out of the ride on Tink's line. We saw where she "lands".

I read the first one while on a trip to WDW...I gotta tell you, it was a whole new experience riding Small World that trip!

What age/ grade level are these books appropriate for? DS has become very interested in these books from the segments on Disney Channel. He reads well above grade level, but I've had the impression they are more teen/ young adult.

there is nothing that would be inappropriate for any age. of course that is subjective.

If your child is a mature 8 -9 year old he should be ok with them. My child was 9 when he read the first one. And they are appropriate for at least up to age 40! :) (That's how old DH is!) We love them.

I only read the first one so far, but I plan to read the others sometime. The most obvious thing to me was the mention of VMK, or Virtual Magic Kingdom. I was an avid player of VMK, so I was amused by some of the inaccuracies of game movement listed. Disney really dropped the ball on letting VMK falter and die, but that's another debate. ;)

Ah ha! That could be it. I didn't play VMK so not familiar to find inaccuracies. Thx!

what i found in the first one was not so much Disney fact issues. i noticed continuity problems such as they would start to discuss a situation or conversation that had happened. i would not recognize it and would go back and try to find the passages and they simply were not there. more of an editing issue than anything. some of the facts about the interior of Cinderella Castle were wrong but may have been correct when written.

I like Kingdom Keepers a lot. I haven't read the other books though. We are actually reading KK as a read aloud in my class right now, too. :)

I enjoyed the first 2 Kingdom Keepers books. (haven't read the 3rd yet) I heard about them on a thread on the Budget Board listing suggested books for young readers. I bought the first one to see if it would be appropriate for my son, who's 8. I enjoyed it so much myself that I went out and bought the second soon after. Although it's obviously not great literature, I think it's a fun read for Disney fans.
