My daughter will be 9 1/2 when we go to DW over Thanksgiving. The children's menus at the restaurants are becoming a little too limited for her taste. She doesn't eat a lot, but she likes more variety than what the kids' menus offer. Has anyone purchased an adult dining plan for a child? Is this allowed? Somehow, I'm thinking that the good folks at Disney wouldn't turn down the chance for more money, but I wanted to find out for sure if anyone has done this. Thanks for any help!

Why don't you purchase a child's plan, and then eat at buffets where she can eat as much as she wants? There are excellent buffets at Cape May, Bomas, Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern, Hollywood and Vine, etc. Pepper Market isn't a buffet, but has very large servings. Restaurants never care if you share your meal with your kids, so you can also supplement her diet from your plate.

The children's menu is for ages 3-9, so no, you won't have any trouble getting her the adult meal plan.

Thanks for the responses. I had thought about the buffets, too. I'm not sure what we will do, but I'm inclined to take advantage of the lower DP price as long as we are still able to, since next year we will have to start paying the adult price for her. By the way, what is Pepper Market?

I have been getting the adult meal for my son since he was 6 (he is now 8). Both my children do not eat things from the child's menu. My daughter just turned 3, so although we are contemplating putting her in the adult plan, it is too much food for her (and she eats alot!). So we are doing a lot of the buffets and for the counter service meals we are choosing mostly the ones without the child's menu. However, occasionally, my children will eat chicken nuggets so we can do that a couple of times, but they won't want to do that everyday. So the best for us is to continue to get the adult DDP for my son and get the child's DDP for my 3 year old. However, we will be planning to go to Sunshine Seasons when we are in Epcot since they have a better variety for children's menu especially the chinese food section.

By the way, when you book your rooms, all you have to do is ask to get your child in the adult plan. I was told that for the purpose of DDP, my son is listed as a 10yr in the reservation.

dd is 9 and this last trip we purchase an adult meal for her thru MS with no problem, ;)

We have booked an adults dining plan for our trip in Sept. Our child is also 91/2 there was no problem at all.

My friend was also in the same situation and she just purchased the adult plan for her son and there were no problems or questions asked.

As you said Disney just made more money. :rotfl:
