??? about the autograph books and passports

I'm sure I'm asking something that has been covered numerous time already, but I'm starting to make a list of all my supplies needed in making things for the kids. My question is what type of paper do you use for the autograph books , the passports and the journals. Does everyone use cardstock, regular paper, or what? I'm planning on taking them in to get binded but am at a loss as to what to use

For the autograph cards I used blank 4x6 cards. I put them in a photo book (actually two photo books as I had 160 of them) that I got from the dollar store.

That way if I didn't get a certain autograph, I wouldn't have a blank page. You could then bind it when you get home. I put them in with my photographs with a picture of my nieces actually getting the photograph.
For the Journals I used a heavier cover page (I think it was 90 pounds?)

OK, what a fabulous idea, I would have never thought of that. I really like this idea so there isn't a bunch of blank pages in the autograph pages. Thank you so much for responding to my first of what will be many many question....lol

Stephanie, I also used the Dollar Tree books for my Epcot Passport pages, you can check them out in my links below....worked like a charm and looks fabulous!! and it was a dollar!!

Do you know about how much ink it took to print 160 cards? I am just curious what I am getting into. I don't think I am making autograph books for this trip, but I probably will for our Aug. 09 trip. Thanks.

I used a 6x8 memory book I found at a scrapbbok store, took off the binding ran the cards through the printer and then rebound them. When we get home I will trim off the hole punches and scrap them with a photo hopefully.

On the Ink I have a HP 510 used the best setting and I am on my 2nd cartridge (but I printed 2 autograph books about 120 pages each and 2 MNSSHP books 40 pages each) I also printed out 2 passports (one of Natalies) I used a Heavy cardstock for those as well.

I really don't remember as I did it over a few months. I made 2 sets of cards (about 160 each, 320 total), shirts for 3 children and 3 adults for everyday (about 6 days) and a few extra for my Mom (can't lift her arms so had to get shirts that snapped in the back) and Niece's DH, 3 passports and one journal (and a partridge in a pear tree ) and I don't think I went through more than 2 or 3 cartridges during the 2/3 month time. Remembering back to Feb is hard. I also did my normal stuff and printed Christmas cards. I know it took me less than I thought? Sorry I can't be more specific. I have a HP 720C. It's a great printer but will print out more than one card if you don't watch it carefully. I had more problem with wasting the cards as it would pick up 2 cards and print 1/2 the disign on 1 card and 1/2 on the one below it. I know I redid at least 25 cards.

Thanks for the info. I am doing passports for this trip because it will be a short trip and I think I will do autograph books next summer.
