? about swapping points on ressie

Hi Everyone: Here's a question I don't have the answer for.

I'm making reservations next month for February 08. Want to do it as soon as it becomes available for reservation as I would like to get BWV Standard view. I have some banked points and 08 UY points that I will use. However, I hope to pass soon on a new resale contract for BWV. It also has some banked points that I would like to use for the Feb 08 ressie, but I'm not sure we are going to pass ROFR and finish the transaction in time to enable me to use them when I make the ressies in March.

So, is it possible to make reservations with the points I currently have and then when I pass in early April, change the points I'm using to the banked points from the new contract? Then I can bank the 08 points for use the next year.

Sorry if this is confusing, but I called DVC and got two different answers!!!

You can try but no guarantee. Any change in this manner is technically a cancellation and rebooking. But if ANY of the days are available, you can still accomplish your intent. It will be easier if the new contract is linked to the one with the reservation but potentially workable regardless. Just be aware that if there is a wait list for those nights you may not be successful. If this situation comes to pass and you get a road block, call several times and ask. Many times one person at MS will do what another might not.

You might have to change over to preferred to be successful but that still might be worth it for your situation if nothing else works.
