I was told that it isnt that great in Dec .... That some of the areas are closed. If so what ones and would it still be worth the ticket price to go. I am on a tight budget. Thanks

No idea what your source was on about. With all parks there are regular maintenance issues and rehab, so maybe they had a difficult time. It's best to check nearer the time as any of the parks are unlikely to have their rehab schedules posted now for Dec. SW was building a whole new restaurant and shop area over the last couple of years, maybe your source was there when the construction was going on. I think that's fully finished and open now.

With SW usually giving a second day free, I find SW is an excellent park to choose when on a budget. You really need two days to cover this park anyway.

I can only remember the last time we went in Dec. Nothing was closed when we were there Christmas week. We had a blast. Only we FROZE cause a cold front had come through. We wore jeans and thermal hooded sweatshirts but could have used a good winter coat and mittens. LOL tourists were buying every sweatshirt they could find in the stores.
It was still one of my favorite times in the park and we stayed from opening to close. The Christmas lights and decorations added to the trip.

Don't be afraid to go. You will have a blast. Just be prepared for cooler temps if a cold front makes it this far south. ( and bring a raincoat for splashes on the ride and splash zones so you won't be walking around soaked if it is cold)

as you can see by my sigline we go in December. The construction caused some closures, but nothing major was closed that I have seen. Oh wait, last time the dolphin nursery was being worked on, and the Pet's Ahoy show was closed. (which we love, btw) I think you may see one or two things, but just regular rehab things. Check before you go with SW if there is something in particular that is a must-see for you.
