?? about standard rooms @ AKL

I booked AKL the morning w the AP code and got it for $124.00 per night. Can someone tell me about standard rooms and where they are located. This will be our first time staying there...we try to stay somewhere different every time!!!

$1240 a night! You should get a suite for that! LOL! Just kidding - I'm sure you mean $124 a night.

I have not stayed in the standard rooms (had one booked for last August and was upgraded to savannah upon check-in) but those rooms overlook the parking lot and bus/car area (sort of the front of the hotel) from what I've seen. The hotel is beautiful and there are many places to view the animals - have a great time!!!

We stayed in standard view rooms last spring. They face the parking areas in the front of the lodge. Our rooms were on the left side in Ostrich Trail. We were in front of the handicap parking and it was nice. Very quiet. Alot of foliage so viewing cars wasn't a problem. The walk to the pool, restaurants, and bus stop wasn't bad at all because the lobby is so breath taking to look at. There are alot of viewing areas to see animals. We loved going outdoors after dark and watching in the "moonlight". The pool is gorgeous too. You'll love AKL. Have a super trip.

Are the rooms on the first floor??

There might be. Take a look at a map of the resort, and you will notice some 1XXX numbers (http://allearsnet.com/acc/aklmap3.jpg). However, I believe that those are Pool View rooms.

I am not sure why you asked, but keep in mind that the lobby is on the 3rd floor.

It is a wonderful resort. As you can tell from my signature, my family loves it.

We went last year the week of Thanksgiving and pretty much had the same thing as DisneyFreaks. We were on the 5th floor. You could still see some cars but there was alot of foliage so it was still a nice view (and you could see how long the lines were for the bus).

I'm not sure about the first floor. Our rooms were lobby level which is the third floor. I don't believe there was a floor below us in the front of the lodge. We first had three rooms up on the fifth floor but they did not have much in the way of balconies so we asked to be changed. They were very nice about moving us and even called our room later on to see if we were happy with the new rooms.

I just changed my ressie from CSR to AKL too!! I am nervous too - anyone have any pics of the rooms??
