I was thinking of buying this for my DGS's trip to WDW. One thought I had tho-----has anyone ever had a problem with a child not wanting to ever get into the seat section when they know they can "stand and ride'? I am just trying to avoid any conflicts with DGS wanting to stand and ride and us wanting him to sit/lay down (maybe sleep;) ) ALso--is there a strap ro something for the standing child--or do they just hold on?

Also: Can an almost 3 year old lay down comfortably in this stroller? I can't really tell from the pictures ( I had DGS sit in a stroller at BRU on Saturday that looked like it would fit him and he sat fine--but then when I reclined it his head hung over the back).

I am not sure from your post but do you realize this stroller is designed for two children? I don't know about a 3yo in a reclining position I imagine many 3yos would be over the seat esp if they are tall. There is a strap for the standing child, and the back child can also sit. It is a good choice for a child say 9mos or older in the front and a 2-4yo in the back. The child in the back can only sit if the child in the front is in the upright sitting position. If you have an infant than the child in the back would be limited to standing.

Personally I think this is a fairly heavy and hard to manuver stroller, a good option for two kids but I wouldn't choose it for one. I can't see any advantage to having a place for a child to stand in addition to ride. If they don't want to ride then they can just walk <g>. Perhaps I misunderstood your post but hth.

If you are looking for something for just one child there are many great lightweight strollers that would good for a 2/3yo.

This is a big, heavy and bulky stroller for WDW especially if you only have one child!

If I were you, I'd get a smaller, lightweight stroller for WDW.

yes, there is strap for when they are standing that goes across their back.

Thanks for the replies. It is only the one child. I was just thinking it would give him more flexibility than just sitting all the time. We'll go with one stroller and he can either ride or hold his dad's hand (or Grandma's ;) ).

How big is your grandson? The bigger the child the harder it is to steer, at least in my experience.

If your going to invest in a new one, then i reccommend one like the century Capri. Something relatively lightweight. Big basket underneath. Sun Shade. Reclining seat. And removable cupholders: you want to be able to snap his tray off and toss it underneath so he can hop in and out easily. YOu can usually pick something like this up for about $50-$75.

As for getting him to sit, we tell our son to sit so we can go fast. when that fails, we sit him down and remind him and ourselves that its a dictatorship not a democracy.;)

We have brought the sit/stand with us for our 2 kids. While it was a life saver for us, it was bulky to fold up and take on the buses. I would definitely use it again for 2 kids, however I have to admit, I was very happy 2 trips ago, when my then 5 yo was ready to walk around and we only had to bring the stroller for younger DS. It really is a big difference for lugging around. :D

we had one for 2 kids. I would never bring it for just one. It is huge and heavy and hard to move around. It was perfect for us several years ago. DD could walk, sit or stand and her brother was happy in the front. there is a small strap that goes around their butt but it really doesn't hold them in securely.
I would get a nice stroller if they don't have one that has a basket, top and reclines.
