I am thinking of selling my AAA parking pass on Ebay. I have never sold anything on Ebay before and I'm wondering how much they charge to sell items? Any info would be appreciated. :flower:

eBay charges you 2 fees when you set up and conclude an auction.

The first is an insertion fee, also referred to as a listing fee. The amount will vary based on your starting value and any extras that you might add such as placing the item in the gallery, bold print in the listing, highlighting the listing, Buy-It-Now, Reserve Auction, additional pictures. You get the idea. This fee is non-refundable, whether you item sells or not. It the item does not sell the first time you list it, eBay will refund the 2nd insertion fee if it sells on re-listing.

The second fee that you'll pay is a Final Value Fee. This works out to be a percentage of what the final auction amount is. There is no fee if the item does not sell. If it does sell, the fee is based on 5.25% of the closing price for items under $25. The fee structure gets more complicated as you move up from that price (5.25% of the first $25, plus 2.75% of any amount above $25 up to $1K).

It might be more of a hassle than it's worth, given that you've never eBay'd before. You might want to consider using the DIS Auctions instead or Magicmom's swap site.

I was going to list my two on E-bay last year but with all the fees and then you had to specifically list Blackout Dates on them and explain that it wasn't FREE parking, just closer parking, it was more hastle and time consuming than the actual money (if any) you would make. I ended up just giving them away to the first two people to PM me on this list. Depending on how popular (hot) they are when you list you may only break even. But don't dispare, people will buy almost anything on E-bay :goodvibes

Thanks for the info guys. I have been thinking about selling some stuff on eBay but I'm still undecided. I have so much "stuff" and DH is starting to complain.

About those passes...
Do some offices give them just for buying tickets, or do you always have to buy a whole vacation package?

We got our when we just bought the tickets, but I know different people report they were told they had to buy a package.

I have to pipe in here and state my humble opinion. We were at WDW at Easter and purchased a AAA package and thus received a AAA parking pass. Yes, it was wonderful to have a separate parking area that was considerably closer. But on a few occasions, the AAA park was full!!! I really have a problem with people trying to sell or give away parking passes to others. I guess that defeats the purpose of rewarding those that do purchase packages or tickets through AAA. We did not have a pin or a AP discount so we paid rack rate minus the 10% for our room. It burns me to think that some non-AAA customers are taking up parking spots just because they paid a couple bucks for the AAA pass.

Now off my soapbox.

Holy cow, I just checked completed items and they are selling for 50 bucks :earseek: That's nuts.

I just had to add my opinion on this as well. I have recently purchased a AAA package and did recieve the parking pass,,, but knew that I would never use it since we were staying on disney property and using the Jammed Packed busses,, but thats another story, so someone on here asked if someone had one they were not using and I offered her mine and in return she will send my kids a postcard. I am happy with that.. Did I want to make a few bucks on the deal, well it never crossed my mind untill I read another post where some where complining about the prices of them.. It amazed me that people were "Selling" a parking pass!!!
