I'm trying to figure out what's the best deal, we are a family of 6 and would look at renting 2 value rooms. From what I understand the discount for a room would be 10-15% and about 40-45% off the dining plan with the play stay and dine.

I trying to get the best deal, looking at park savers for park passes and the 10-15% it doesn't seem like a big discount and I still have to feed the family.

When I try and price out a play stay and dine package it seems like a lot of money...could I do better without the dining plan??

We are looking during peak time for the Princess race week.

Anyone have anything to add to help me with the decision or things to think about????

As a parent in a family of six, I would strongly recommend you price out staying offsite. The costs are different--lodging is cheaper, but you have to rent a car and park, etc. But it's worth your time to at least look at it. I happen to prefer offsite, but everyone has different vacation expectations. You could look at DVC, too, but it's likely to be more expensive (even renting points) than either two value rooms or an offsite condo.

I also happen to not be a big fan of the dining plan. When you get it, you're locked into Disney's idea of what you should eat. I prefer to put the same amount of money on gift cards, or otherwise budget it, and then get wheat my gang wants, when we want it.

as noted.... only you know how much your family eats.... but usually I prefer doing room only and pay for my own food options..... add both options up,and see what the differences are. remember the dining that comes with a value package is just qs anyway...so it can be much cheaper to buy oop and split meals, etc with a bunch of kids. all ears .net has menus and prices. average meal at qs for a kid is about 6 bucks. bigger meals around 10 bucks. (again, many are sharable) I like 2 value rooms onsite, it's fun for the kids.
