OK, I would be wanting to rent points. How soon in advance can a reservation be made, and how difficult is it to get a week at OKW for a studio? We will be wanting to go in Sept. Flexable for the week.

Oh, a couple more questions, what does a week mean? (Beginning day to ending day?) And although I read descriptive info about an OKW studio, I'm still not certain that there is a living area?

The Points Chart shows 80 points for a week, if I'm reading this correct. Please advise if I read this correctly. Thank you so much for all of the experts out there that are in the know.:surfweb:

DVC Members can book their home resort(s) up to 11 months in advance and other DVC resorts up to 7 months in advance.

I think getting OKW in Sept should not be difficult. Points are almost double on Friday and Saturday nights.

If you haven't already, please be sure and educate yourself on how “renting points”, as it is often referred to, is very different from a regular hotel reservation.

September should be one of the easier times to rent as long as you aren't going for the holdiay weekend.

A week at DVC means 7 consecutive nights. As you can see from the charts, Friday and Saturday nights are significantly more points than Sun-Thursday. If you rent from an OKW owner, you can make that reservation up to 11 months from the date of checkout, but if you rent from someone who owns one of the other DVC resorts, you would have to wait until 7 months before the date of checkout. i.e. for a September 20th checkout date, non-OKW owners can reserve on February 20.

You will not get a "living area" in a studio. You need to bump up to a 1 bedroom for that. You will have two queen beds, small table and chairs, under-counter refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave over and wet bar. These will be located off the bathroom, but again, there is no living area.

We rented twice before we bought into DVC and had wonderful experiences. Though I now that doesn't happen 100% of the time, it is the norm. As Mike said, please educate yourself on everything. Good Luck!!

Do the one bedrooms have two queen beds? That's what we'd need.

Thanks

No, for two real queen beds, you will need a studio. If you can do with a king bed and queen pull out, that is what you get in a 1 bedroom. The other perk though, is that you get a full sized kitchen, full sized laundry room, huge bathroom with Jacuzzi tub, dining area, and huge covered dining porch as well as a living room with a very comfy pull out sofa. The pull out is not the kind with the "bar in the back", but is the new memory foam ones.

No.

Studios have two queen beds ad a kitchetee, like a slightly larger hotel room.

1 Bedrooms have a king bed in the master bedroom and a queen sleeper sofa on the living room.

Just remember if you can't get the studio at OKW and you get a studio somewhere else, it will not have two queens beds. Only OKW has the two queens in a studio, everywhere else has a bed and pull out sofa.

And the sleeper sofa in the other studios is only double sized, not queen sized like the bed.
