??about renting out pts.

We want to rent out around 201 pts in the 2006 UY (Our UY is June so it would be 6/1/06-6/1/07). 101 pts are at BCV and 100 at VWL. I have a few questions because I want to make sure it gets done correctly. 1. Would it be better to rent them out separately or combined? 2. If combined, I'd have to book at the 7 month window..is that going to be a problem? We usually go in July and always book in January and never had a problem..is it a problem at other times? 3. What kind of contract would be a good one? 4. Wouldn't it be easier to transfer to another member?

Any other insight would be appreciated!!! We don't plan to make this an ongoing thing. We are going on a cruise next Sept. and are using the points to pay for some of the cruise. I am a very honest person and want to make sure I do it right and also want to make sure..we don't get Screwed in the process either as we really can't afford that either. Thank you!

Many people will be renting this fall, so if you rent your points to be used in the fall, it won't matter which resort the points belong to. I always have at least a few points to rent, so I rent them in the fall to those who only want to go for a long weekend. You will not need a contract to protect yourself, since you always retain control of the points, but you will need to be very clear about deposits, payment schedule, etc. Just for your peace of mind, do NOT call MS before people agree to your price, and for sure they want to book if their dates are available. You will get a ton of people asking you to check certain dates, but most are just curious, they don't actually want to book. Also, make sure the points are totally paid for at least 45 days in advance, so they don't end up in holding.

Thanks for the information! I won't be able to rent until next year (after June) but when would I be able to "advertise" the pts for rent? I get a little confused on the 7 month window. I know I can book anywhere and use all points at that time, but if I rent would I only be able to book August in February, October in April? So right around Jan. or Feb. 2006 is when I could offer the points. Does that sound right?
