I just booked a 7 night cruise for Aug 2004 last week. DH and I are thinking about taking the kids on a 3 night cruise over Veteran's Day. Would I be able to let them know on board that I currently have a cruise booked in order to get the rebooking credit?

To get the credit, you have to actually book the trip when you are onboard. You could compare the price you reserved by booking early with the rate offered while onboard, minus the credit and see which is a better price. Likely, your early booking rate will be a lot better.

I really hate that you have to waste part of your valuable vacation time to rebook. It can be time consuming and you sometimes have to wait in line. They should let you have the credit if you rebook within a few weeks of debarkation.
