If I have a ressie that uses banked or borrowed pts or both can I cancell the ressie and use the pts towards an RCI ressie.

Yes, banked and/or borrowed points may be used for the World Passport Collection.

If I cancell ressie for May the pts go into holding, can they be use for an RCI ressie?

man I never had to do any of this before

My understanding is they can only use holding account points for short notice exchanges of 45 days or less, subject to availability of course. You cannot simply deposit the time you have reserved.

Holding points may be a tougher situation. I'd check with MS about that. Banking points into the World Passport Collection usually extends their use by 2 years, but I'm not certain about restricted points like Holding Points.

You likely posted before you saw my post. From the RCI disclosure guide of last year.

Deposits of Vacation Time received by DVC Member Services from 45 days up until 14 days before the commencement date of the Vacation Time being deposited also are accepted; such deposits can only be used to reserve accommodations from 44 days up until 24 hours in advance of the travel dates desired.

Thanks, Dean. I had not seen that.

No problem.

One thing of note is that there are quite a number of nuances that are different between using DVC for RCI and RCI directly beyond the obvious lack of direct access, online options and hours. The fee for one which appears to be the same whether exchanging for 2 days or a full week. The ability to do search first is an advantage for DVC members. The cancelation and short notice deposit options are a fair amount different as well. IMO, a biggie is the fact that with RCI directly (and II) one can cancel up to 24 hours (? even close of business the next day) without any loss. This is definitely not true with DVC.
