? about posting timeouts

From time to time it tells me I have X minutes until I can post. Are the limits listed anywhere? New to this.

The "you must wait XX minutes...." thing is part of the spambot protections. Anyone, newbies or old-timers, can get hit with it.

Although it seems that it mostly hits new posters (with no posting history) who are posting too many posts too quickly.
