?? about poly buildings

Help! We are leaving in 3 weeks and staying at the poly. We are 2 adults and 2 children 13 and 9. We want a lagoon view. What is the best building to stay at?

Also, has their been any new changes going on, we have not been to WDW in 2 years? Are there any new activites or rides? Any info about WDW will be great.

The first question would be to ask if you booked a lagoon view. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but the only buildings that are listed as lagoon view are Hawaii (undergoing renovation until October), Tahiti (which is now the concierge building and thus costs more), and Tuvalu.
If you only booked a regular room, you could try asking for Figi - volcano pool side. We were there in 2001 and on the 3rd floor. Good view of the back of the volcano pool, marina, and some of Seven Seas Lagoon. At least in 2001, it was considered a "garden view room".
If you check out the official Disneyworld website, you can check out what's new since you were there last.

First of all, did you book and pay for a lagoon view? As full as the resorts have been lately, there will be no free upgrade. The only rooms currently available for lagoon view are in the Tuvalu and Auteroa. Hawaii is closed and Tahiti is concierge only.

The first and second floor of Tuvalu are non-smoking. The third floor is smoking optional. All rooms on the north side of that building do face the lagoon. In Auteroa, some of the second and third floor rooms on the north side (but not all) have lagoon views. That entire building is non-smoking.

Thanks for your suggestions, Lady Lt and alien. I think we booked GV but, we might change it to LV. We had Lagoon View at the WL and we loved it. We loved seeing the parada from the room. Any more suggestions would be great. When should request a longhouse? Before or after you we arrive?
